    PGA 2k25 2025

------------------------------“I have received offers from Florida State, Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Florida.
I like all of those schools. They are all respectable programs.
They have all won national championships, except for Auburn.-Christian Smith (Andre's Brother)

Nice, but a 9 min. video just to say it's being released isn't necessary.

I think this length of video is needed to get monetized and/or prioritized in the YT algorithm. Longer videos like that are given a boost because they tend to hold viewer engagement for longer.

Basically, having a 9 min. video about a vague release announcement is a business decision for the content creator, thanks to how YT operates.

That explains a lot of what I see on You Tube now Beach. Thanks for posting that here!

While the focus is of course PGA and LPGA professionals, I wonder if 2K25 will have Caitlin Clark since Michael Jordan and Steph Curry were in 2K23. Not the biggest fan of Clark nor Curry, but I do think they would be nice additions since both are in NBA 2K.

I hope not. Rather see them stick to the sport and its history.

              I don't understand this

Why do we want pro basketball players in a golf game?

Her swing and shank off the first tee the other day just shows she has no business being on the LPGA.

To draw in more buyers, because more buyers means more money.

Golf is a niche spot in the world of sports video gaming, and I think 2K wanted to bring in some buyers that normally wouldn't purchase PGA Tour 2K23 by including basketball players who were in NBA 2K23. They knew content creators would post videos of playing a round or two as Jordan and/or Curry, and that helped 2K; doesn't have to help immensely as long as it helps. And we don't have to agree with it, but it helps.

And please, no more John Cena. Enough with the John Cena. We've been supersaturated with John Cena.

I believe it's only a matter of time before we see Caitlin Clark in a 2K golf game. And it doesn't bother me at all, just as it didn't bother me at all to have football, soccer and hockey players in the old EA golf games.

It's obvious 2K is into crossovers (no pun intended): PGA Tour 2K has a WWE 2K Superstar, Topspin 2K has NBA 2K jerseys, etc. We may ask, "Why is _____ in the game?", but I'm sure they're asking, "Why not, _____ is already in another one of our games". It's exposure and money for them.
If I had my way, motor scooters and jet packs wouldn't be in NBA 2K, but reasons.

2k21 sold over 1 million copies and I believe 2k23 faired pretty well in itself. That is not a niche video game. Golf has grown tremendously in the last four years and it doesn’t need a wnba superstar to sell copies. You’re point that it is only to sell copies is a reach and I feel like this is to stir the pot more than anything.

You're missing what I was saying, evidenced by you feeling like "this is to stir the pot more than anything".

Stir what pot? I originally said I wasn't even a CC fan my guy. I just wonder if they will include her in PGA Tour 2K25 because 1) she plays golf as Steph Curry and Michael Jordan do, and 2) she's in NBA 2K25....as Steph Curry and Michael Jordan are.
                            That is all.

There is a thread in the OS Basketball section likening CC to Michael Jordan--feel free to see if I agreed with that to know if I'm stirring a pot. Heck--feel free to look at any of my posts over here to substantiate that claim.

I don't play as WNBA teams in NBA 2K25 because I'm not a fan of that either, but I do think it was a nice addition in the franchise.
                            That is all.

"Golf has grown tremendously", but it has been mentioned before about its niche nature as a sports video game. Madden, NBA 2K, FIFA/EAFC are putting games out on a yearly basis and making money despite some of those games being reskins in the opinion of many....yet people here and elsewhere were wondering if there was going to be a PGA Tour 2K24 and most recently a PGA Tour 2K25. "Golf has grown tremendously", but the video game ain't consistently doing numbers like the ones I mentioned.

No need to throw accusations around to someone or anyone for that matter who doesn't stir pots, and if I was going to, it would be on something that has more eyes on it than a golf message board.

I don't like some of the decisions 2K makes, but I understand why they would make them.

I understood your point perfectly fine. You’re making it to be a golf game needs to have celebrities and other athletes to survive. It doesn’t. I’m pretty sure EA and 2k know what market they are selling too and adjust those number accordingly. Caitlyn Clark is a hot topic. She wasn’t even a thought when we don’t even have a roster of actual pga and lpga pros yet.

All I am saying is, golf games don’t need to celebrities and other athletes to survive. The 100 nba or wnba fans they might bring over aren’t the core audience they’re marketing towards and shouldn’t be.
