University of Newport Falcons Football

Welcome to my new CFB25 Teambuilder dynasty. I've given a solid run at dynasty reporting in the past with my Penn A&T Dynasty on NCAA 14 and though I disappeared a handful of times, I enjoyed telling stories and having the community be involved. Well, times have changed and I don't have the mental capacity to put THAT much effort into this anymore, but I do still love to have an arena to share my dynasty.

With that, we have my newest endeavor - The University of Newport Falcons. I won't promise consistency, I won't promise storylines, but I'd like to have some fun with this and carry Newport quite a few years into the future.

I have a few online dynasties I'm a part of that are obviously a little faster paced than this will be, but I love me a good solo dynasty where I can be immersed in my own mind.

Newport Jumps from FCS to FBS, Accept Invite to American Conference

Newport, RI - The University of Newport football program will be leaving the CAA in the FCS and will be joining the American Conference. This move is effective immediately and follows the announcement that the UMass football program is disbanding. The Falcons are fresh off a 2023 CAA Championship and second-round exit from the FCS Playoffs. They are led by head coach Reuben Bradley. The 38-year-old coach is in his third season at the helm and has resurrected the program from FCS bottom-feeder into playoff contender.

Anyone interested can feel free to comment now.

I'll likely be skimming over any in-depth Around the NCAA updates for the time being. We've all seen the wash, rinse, repeat of the first season of dynasties now that the game has been out for a bit. For the first season, maybe I'll do a mid-season update of rankings, leaders, etc.

It's very easy for my interest to fade out with reporting when I feel like I put more time and effort into posting around the NCAA updates than the actual games or other facets surrounding my teams.

I just wish you could use TeamBuilder in offline mode, but I get it. I had an idea to do a team from Alaska but didn't like that to keep anything close to an actual pipeline I'd basically have to kill Hawaii lol.

What team did you replace for Newport?

Good to see you posting. I remember you from NCAA14 days..

I really wanted to do Team Builders this time around, but I was very disappointed when I loaded in a bunch of schools and found out that the school your replace keeps the Proximity to Home area., so when I replaced UMass with Eastern Washington my Proximity to Home pitch was good for guy's in on the East Coast not the West Coast. It ruined it for me. because as a 70 Overall school Proximity to Home was my only A graded pitch but it didn't work on players from the Pacific Northwest (Idaho/Oregon/Washington) so my Pipelines were all jacked too.

Thanks! I replaced UMass. Similar to what you mentioned, I wanted to ensure I had a similar pipeline and it just worked out. I wanted a challenge in recruiting, as the northeast isn't exactly a hotbed and offers limited resources from a talent perspective.

Thanks, Deuce! Yeah, the post NCAA14 days of the dynasty reports were a blast because we all knew we could take it wherever we wanted without worrying about it ending.

Yeah, the teambuilder importing process in the new game is not great at all but I knew the northeast US wasn't exactly a hotbed of recruiting, so it offered a challenge. Removing UMass was an easy decision because it offered the pipelines that a I wanted and no one is going to miss the school, from a national perspective.

What made you decide to run with Fresno’s playbook?

Good question. The true reason is I wanted something that I knew nothing about. It’s pro style, but still has spread elements. In my other online dynasties, I have a custom playbook that I use because I know where every play and money play is and when I need to go to it.

With a playbook like Fresno, it forces me to get uncomfortable with some plays I may not be used to or even know where it is if I wanted to find it. After time I’m sure I’ll get accustomed to it, but I don’t anticipate it getting to a level where I become bored with it. If I do, I’ll probably make some adjustments.

2024, Game 1 at Wisconsin

Newport Scares Wisconsin in Opener, But Ultimately Loses Sloppy Game

Fans and the Wisconsin Badgers football program alike were seeing headlights in the first half of the the 2024 season opener against the University of Newport. The Falcons held the Badgers to just a field goal in the first quarter, however, were unable to put any points up themselves. Newport QB Matt Kadish was methodical early, keeping the ball safe through the air and displaying his improvision in the red zone when he scampered 8 yards for the the first touchdown of the game and the first in the FBS-era for the Newport program.

From there, the two teams slugged it out in the second quarter to a tune of a 17-17 tie at halftime - something I'm sure no one in the stadium had expected when the game kicked off.

Newport added to the anxiety in Madison by opening up the third quarter with a big 36-yard touchdown pass from Kadish to Cjay Rich. However, the anxiety from that point on was not long lasted, as Wisconsin went on to score 31 unanswered points and take down the 2024 season opener with ease.

Defensively, Newport was able to get pressure up front, despite a generally stout offensive line for the Badgers. Edge Malik Milton was the biggest contributor with two tackles for loss and pulling down one of two interceptions on Badgers QB Tyler Van****(lol censors).

The Falcons move on for another away contest, this time in Music City to battle the Vanderbilt Commodores in Week 2 with kickoff slated for 11am.

Newport Kicker Ian Wells had some tough luck in his first kick of 2024, doinking this one off the left upright in the first quarter.


Wide Receiver Kyaire Harding will need to make sure he brings his hands in Week 2 after dropping two passes in the opener.


Defensive End Drew Robinson stunned the Badgers QB by chasing him down in the first quarter for this 6-yard sack.


Quarterback Matt Kadish isn't known for his running ability, but that doesn't stop him from taking an easy six if the defense gives it to him.


Cornerback Jayden Bowie stepped right in front of a post route for one of two interceptions on the day.


Wisconsin wasn't the only team turning the ball over on Saturday, as Kadish got wreckless and threw a duck 40 yards downfield, right into the hands of a Badger defensive back
