Cardinals can't complete sweep but win series over the Twins
The Cardinals (2-1) were unable to complete the sweep on Sunday against the Twins, but still took 2 out of 3 to win the series to start the 2025 season.
The Cardinals won on Opening Day 6-3 and then won Saturday 4-1 as Ryan Helsley saved both games. Erick Fedde was remarkable on Saturday tossing 7 innings of 5 hit ball with 6 strikeouts and allowing the one run.
Sunday wasn't a good day for Miles Mikolas who got lit up for 11 hits and 6 runs over just 5 innings of work. The offense was stagnant and the Twins would roll 11-1 over the Cardinals who had just two hits in the game.
The Cardinals will return to action on Monday night as the welcome the Angels to town for a 3 game series to begin the week before taking their first road trip of the season to Boston this upcoming weekend.
