NBA 2k18 - Another VC grind fest?
i just have the feeling after the anouncment today (you'll get 250k if you buy the superdeluxeawesome version!!!), that vc will be again an integral part of the gameplay (aka gameplay elements are only available if puchased via vc), which would suck tbh, since they seem to not care about what was criticised concerning 2k17. just a feeling, but it wouldn't surpise me if they take it even further to see how far they can go.Tags: None -

I'll never forget 2K14 where you had to spend VC just to adjust your rotation in MyGM. I just can't believe they are charging us for things that are so simple.Comment

All games are going this way. When people stop buying vc or doing micro transactions maybe they will change things.

more like vc2k18 with partial NBA license that you can play as lots of impersonators on mildly believable courts.Last edited by sudanmalkovich; 05-09-2017, 09:30 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2k18 - Another VC grind fest?
Strauss Zelnick Take Two's CEO has come out in support of Microtransactions in of all their games. Rockstar games has it in GTA Online their sharkcards still brings Take Two a ton of money after 4 years and it's still going strong. NBA 2k also brings in a lot of money for Take Two through VC no way it goes away. I'm fine with VC as long as it's not very intrusive and not really forced on you as long as they don't go back to what they did with 2k14 where you had to pay VC to change your lineup in MyGM. We can already gain a good amount of VC if we play all the modes anyway.Last edited by zello144; 05-09-2017, 03:20 PM.Comment

It was always about money. You are kidding yourself to think otherwise
But to answer the thread of course and it's the course gaming is heading as long as these budgets to make and market games increase so will the ways publishers will have to entice people to pay more than the base price (honestly surprise we still pay $60 for games).

So I had heard rumors that there would be no MyPark in 2k18, that the ELeague was replacing MyPark, any truth to these rumors? I haven't seen anything that says either way!Comment

Like pickup games with street clothes in an individual court (not with other courts and players playing in the background).Comment

The 2k grind is ridiculous. 2k's grind is harder than those online MMO RPGs and those games go on for YEARS....
In 2k, your dude is obsolete after 1 year if you want to continue to participate online, which makes the grind that much more punishing.
The punishing grind needs to be fixed... it doesn't fit in this game, and it is ruining the fun (videogames are supposed to be fun).
Another issue is how the attributes seem to work. It goes like... +5 +5... at the beginning then you get to the middle, like my sharpshooter I got to around 70 and it's gonna be +1 for awhile. It's like cmon... then at the top it'll go up to like +3 again, probably, because that's what it did for other things.
I think that the issue is grind should not be required in a player vs player game. Fun or not, it just shouldn't be, that's why I think we need a pick up and play mode or a mode where we have some pick up and play competitive options.
Imagine if this was a fighting game and you had to unlock special moves, it would be wack. Or like in MOBAs you might get tiny bonuses from putting in work, but it's nothing that decides whether you win or not. You're not going in as 55 vs 95s.
