Associated Fictional Draft Classes (Madden 20)

Ok, so I think it’s about time we start an official thread for these draft classes for Madden 20. I don’t want to get into a long drawn out explanation but I do want you to know what you can expect from these classes even though most of you using them already have an idea of what to expect:


- One of the big things that the generated classes do better this year is allow for busts to be drafted in the earlier rounds. For those that don’t follow the NFL closely, first round draft busts are common. After doing a study of the last ten years, I discovered that first round picks are busts approximately 31% of the time, average/ok approximately 25% of the time and a “homerun” the remaining 44% of the time. The 20 classes that I plan to complete will reflect that. Not each draft, but collectively. You may have one draft where the projected top ten are almost all great picks and another draft where they are majority busts or average.


- I also did some studies on each position and how frequently they are considered busts. Those will be applied as well within the classes and can be seen in the scouting reports. Speaking of scouting reports….


- Each draft will initially have a detailed spreadsheet attached to it. No class will be released without the detailed spreadsheet. During that time I will be working on a more presentable spreadsheet and it will be posted once it is complete. Remember that these classes are all attached and are a continuation of one another. If you see a freshman that interest you on the stat sheet or winning an award in Year 3, you know that he will be available in either Draft Class 5 or Draft Class 6.


- The generated draft classes are not very good for giving you a variety of different heights, weights and playstyles for different positions. For example, I rarely saw linebackers in the 220 – 229 range although there are players in the league at that size. I made sure to add variety in that area as well.


- After doing some testing, I don’t think they should have lowered the ratings for the rookies at the top of the draft. I understand that the system has a wider range of overall ratings now but nothing really changed at the top for the higher rated players in the default roster. Because of this, a 77 or 78 rated player (which would be around the highest rated player in the default classes) would have as much of an opportunity to make a big time impact their rookie year ala Saquon Barley, Javon Kearse, Randy Moss, Ndamokung Suh… you get the picture. So ratings at the top are a little higher. You may draft a guy as high as 84 – 85 or as low as 50 (that’s as low as I go. If you get a guy below a 50 overall that’s not one of my guys).

These classes really revitalize CFM. There’s nothing more satisfying than drafting a gem in the later rounds (and nothing worse than trading up and drafting a bust.)

I'm going to be a man of my word and continue to work on these but after importing a class and seeing this in action I really don't think I'm going to be able to enjoy this anymore. Drafting is going to be way to easy now.

It is a HUGE letdown for the amount of work that goes into these classes. I just don't know what to do now regarding the bug. I'm glad it's fixed but I guess that's entirely up to me. I could just NOT scout but that's dumb IMO to not use the tools in the game. I'll figure out something. I'm usually terrible with drafting anyway so this may not effect me as much as others [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Lol I feel you. After a few minutes I started to calm down. I think us hardcore guys need to come up with a house rule we can all agree to. Maybe limit to 10 full scouts or something like that. What do you guys think?

Oh also, the CPU still draft busts in the first round and I still had some top 20 players fall to the later rounds due to where I placed them on the big board so that's promising.
