I'm so pumped to have Gunther be the World Champion, but a little part of me wants Orton to beat him. Gunther can win it back, but have Orton get it one last time.

I'll be watching this and college football Saturday for sure. Thankfully this isn't on during the Michigan game!

Orton should win at least 1 more for sure, but I don't think this should be it.

If we get the old Orton back, I wonder how people would feel about him beating Cody for the title. Let's say Orton channels his old self, even punts Cody during the match to win the title, Cody losing it by his "friend" turning heel and becoming deranged again doesn't seem so bad. Then Cody once again becomes the underdog trying to win the title back, maybe even on the first SD of the new year (they'd already be on USA, but that's their global Netflix debut).

My idea in my head is that Orton beats Cody to win his 15th World Championship at Mania. He loses it but regains it to win his 16th and tie Cena. Then for whatever reason...... the title becomes vacant with a tournament set up where Cena wins his side of the bracket, Orton wins his side of the bracket.

Starrcade 2025, Greensboro Coliseum. Not only is it Cena's last match but it's the finals for the vacant WWE Championship against his longtime rival Randy orton. Winner between Orton & Cena would break Flair's record and win their 17th Championship. It's in Greensboro, a place where Flair made his name, the PPV synonymous with Flair, plus we know Triple H loves his old WCW PPVs. Cena wins, officially breaks Flair's record and since it's last match he gets to go out the same way Sting went out, as Champion. Then the 2026 Royal Rumble would be for the vacant WWE Championship.

Michael Cole is asking for it.

"You've never won a strap match."

          "I've only had one"

          "And you lost it"

          *Fans chanting for Cole*

"You don't need to chant his name, he's a big enough mark for himself."

"I'm a mark, you're sending out videos on Instagram."

Random thing I noticed. The arena they're in underwent a name change earlier this year.

So the initial promotional material for this show advertised it as Mercedes Benz Arena when its now Uber Arena.

Not that it changes anything, but I wonder how often that's happened where the venue name changed before the show happened. So some or most people going could've had tickets which listed the old venue name on it.

That depends, does Cole have any braclets he values?

Hot Take: These international crowds are becoming too obnoxious with needless chants to put themselves over. It's like they saw that helped get the Puerto Rico crowd 'over' so now they all do it.

Kind of like the stupid 'What' chants and how every US crowd defaults to that **** (when 'bored' or a heel is talking).

Stop making the event about yourselves and bring that energy to the talent in the ring.

Its the first match in their first ever PLE.

And the chants have been in sync with the match action. I think early on they were coming close to going rogue when KO and Cody took a little too long with the pre-match apprehensive wrestling and thought I saw the ref alert them to get into the meat of the match, but since then the crowd has been great.

Anyway, I like the match story going on but would like to see it culminate in a KO heel turn based around "you asked for this!!"

Edit: god I hate what WWE has done with finishers though

Right, they are getting into the match and the crowd is doing better. I was worried it was gonna be the obnoxious French crowd all over again.

And I totally agree about finishing moves. **** is corny in all of pro wrestling with all the false finishes.

I'm surprised Disney hasn't sent Jade a cease and desist notice for how close her music sounds to the X-Men (Fox morning cartoon) theme music.

Sounds so much like that theme or it has similar elements.

That ship has already sank. Or sailed. Or you know what I mean. Pro wrestling fans in 2024 are too far gone.

I know. Just annoys the **** out of me.

I like all 4 of those ladies but that match was very clunky and underwhelming. I can't wait until they split Bianca from Jade and hopefully turn Bianca heel in the process.

I thought it was a good match but I agree, having a team like them hurts the tag division because I don't see a credible challenge from any other team.

I'm always iffy on these gimmick matches though, feels like more often than not they disappoint.

I heard that since HHH took over they haven't had any qualms about referring to other promotions but I still was surprised they referenced Punk's experience with this gimmick match in another promotion to win their belt.
