    The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

Welcome to the OS WWE Dirt Thread. This thread is created and stickied so that you, the OS wrestling fan, can discuss the information provided by 'Dirt Sheets'. This is the only place that you may discuss information from the 'Dirt Sheets', so please do not post rumors on other parts of the WWE forum.

You do not need to warn people of possible unconfirmed spoilers in this thread. By entering this thread, you are risking seeing spoilers of some sort. However, DO NOT POST CONFIRMED AND/OR ALREADY TAPED INFORMATION IN THIS THREAD. We have a Spoilers thread for that.

    Thank you.

Very good idea Millenium. Is it possible if someone posts a TV show results in here that maybe they could put a SPOILER tag above it just so if we are reading rumors were not spoiling any TV shows?

I think the best way to go about this thread, and I think Millennium would agree with me, is to make it somewhat of a "No-Holds Barred" type of thread. Post whatever the hell you want, be it spoilers, "news" you get from the dirt sheet, etc. This is the place for it, meaning there is no other place for it.

As such, tags like "spoiler" won't really be necessary because it will be understood that by even viewing this thread, you run the risk of having a storyline spoiled.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt'/Spoilers Thread

Personally I think there should be a whole wrestling "rumors" sub-forum for all brands of wrestling.

Because some people may like to read about the rumored goings ons back stage (i.e. HHH hates Cena, Orton is a crack head) but they may not want to hear about results spoilers (Iron Sheik to return fulltime, Snitsky to beat Hogan at wrestlemania).

plus, with different threads, people can discuss the plausibility of different rumors without accidently seeing some spoilers that they didnt want to.

I barely post in this forum as is, but I figure that this may help clean it up a little more, instead of relegating all of the "trash" to one thread.

            Just wondering what people think?

I agree. I regularly lurk the wrestling forums and I dont think it makes much sense to regulate all dirt and spoilers in one thread. IMO, it'll just cause confusion when one looks at such a large thread with possibly 3 or 4 discussions going on at one time. I dont know why you guys have such a vendetta at eliminating dirt, its all apart of the overall wrestling discussion is'nt it?

Agree in my opinion...Reading the bull crap them people write and say this and that after a show or before a show are much different then spoilers of a match. I love just reading b/s about what people make up or what could be true

But I dont like the idea of just reading some stuff then boom O yea Hogan beats Stone Cold at Backlash in 2 weeks

Sure obviously most people go on to those sites and read everything but Its like MLB, You like to read trade rumors and so on ..who doesnt? But wouldnt it suck tho if boom you knew who was gonna win th egame?

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt'/Spoilers Thread

I thought this was a great idea when I first saw it, but now I have the same thoughts as Streets.

It's also kind of vague exactly what goes in here. There's a thread in the TNA forum about a two hour slot. That came from pwinsider if I'm not mistaken, but it surely isn't "dirt". What happens when I read some more about it in The Observer this weekend? Do I have to ignore that thread and post in the Dirt Thread?

There's also alot of free flowing conversations here. Look at the Warrior thread. Batista's "passion for the business" comes up. My post was what I read in a dirt sheet, but it fit in the conversation.

Are ratings dirt? Buyrates? When a release is announced on wwe.com, does the rest of thread get moved to this thread? As Graphik pointed out, it'll all lead to confusion.

I think an all encomposing sub-forum would be best. It'll be less confusing and just easier to get through. I know some people here want to completely eliminate this stuff, but you can't. Controlling it is fine because sometimes it does get out of hand (I've been guilty of this myself), but we can do better than a thread with vague guidelines.

I consider wwe.com the same as watching the product on TV. It's stuff the E wants us to know

I would assume that ratings and buyrates would be fine too, it's based on fact.

I think this topic is more for the "he said, she said" crap that's always on dirt sheets.

I think there should be two topics for this, one for the dirt sheet stuff, and another for spoilers, that way people who do like the dirt about HBK and Cena "not getting along" but don't want to know that HBK is winning the title at Backlash won't have their viewing pleasure ruined(I haven't heard anything about HBK winning at Backlash, or even getting a title shot lol, just made it up).

Ideally it would be nice to have a separate forum for all that crap, but if I remember right, it took a fight just to get TNA and WWE it's own forums, so I can't see spoilers/dirt getting it's own separate forum anytime soon

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt'/Spoilers Thread

                      Millenium, Mods,

Can we please have a sub forum just dedicated to Spoilers/Rumors? It then allows discussions on a per topic basis instead of everything getting lost in one big thread.

I think what you did Millenium was a good idea to centralize all of the rumors/spoilers. Now we will have one gigantic thread like we do with example Guitar Hero, etc. and conversation gets lost in those threads still even though its one subject matter. Now we have a unified wrestling spoilers/rumors thread where tons of different subjects will be discussed and plenty of confusion can occur.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt'/Spoilers Thread

A sub forum has been discussed and shot down. There is no reason to have a complete sub forum dedicated to 'rumors'. This thread is all there will be.

Anything on WWE.com is not 'dirt'. It is being reported from he source. Past that, it's dirt.

As for what exactly goes in here: Anything from a dirt sheet, rumors, spoilers.

Yeah, I pretty much expected this respone. I'm glad that everyone else thinks that a sub-forum is a good idea though.

Personally, I think putting all the rumors AND results AND spoilers AND dirt in one thread is going to become jumbled, and it's a bit unfair because it is like you have to choose to read every single spoiler, result, rumor, etc. or read none at all. And I know you hate dirt sheets, but some of the posters here have said they like the backstage "gossip" but do not want the show ruined. Or some like the rumors of what's going to happen but do not want to know the actual results. So there's a few reasons to have a seperate sub-forum.

But again, this was pretty much expected because we all know you are on a crusade to clean up these here wrestling boards. Good luck with that. Personally, I don't understand why you can't have it both ways (the people get their sepeate forum and yours remains spoiler free).

I agree with all this...I guess in the MLB Threads they should not talk about the Marlins possibly trading Willis to the Braves b/c its not from a legit source

Just to interject a little, the thread idea is a good one, but I really think it would be better to have 2 stickied threads. One for spoilers of shows and another for dirt/rumors.
