    WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?

Just began my WWE '13 Universe Mode, finished my first night's Raw. I'm certainly enjoying the game so far... that said:

    Los Angeles, CA

    Match 1
    The Miz v. Mike Tyson

The Intercontinental Champion started off the night against Iron Mike Tyson, and held his own. However, by the time all was said and done, 2 Skull Crushing Finales weren't enough to keep Tyson down, who knocked out the Intercontinental Champion with a vicious right hook.

Result: Mike Tyson def. The Miz

    Match 2
    Brodus Clay v. Dolph Ziggler

The Funkasaurus met Dolph Ziggler in one on one action. Much to the pleasure of the Funkadactyls, Clay picked up the pinfall over Ziggler.

Result: Brodus Clay def. Dolph Ziggler

Match 3: WWE Tag Team Championship
    Kofi Kingston & R-Truth (C) v. Team Hell No!

A back and forth match ended with Kofi Kingston falling victim to a Tombstone Piledriver, and the title reign of Kingston and Truth would come to an end.

Result: Team Hell No! def. Kofi Kingston & R-Truth (New champions)

    Match 4
    Chris Jericho v. Brock Lesnar

The veteran Y2J dominated a resilient Lesnar who needed 3 Codebreakers to be kept down.

Result: Chris Jericho def. Brock Lesnar

    Match 5
    CM Punk v. The Rock

The WWE Champion faced off against the People's Champion. Early in the match, the match was compromised by interference from Chris Jericho who laid out The Rock and then leaving. The Rock was able to fight back, picking up the victory falling a Rock Bottom. After the match, The Rock congratulated the Voice of the Voiceless, shaking his hand in a display of sportsmanship.

Does interference by the cpu actually attack the guy with some purpose that results in the match ending or is it just attack until they are beaten and then retreat to the back?

WWE Monday Night Raw is War Brought to you by "The Den"

Match 1: Goldust v. David Otunga

Did Not Happen Otunga was mysteriously attacked in the back.

      Results: No Contest

Match 2: 2 Cool v. Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara

Back and forth match that saw Rey Mysterio take control of the match from the start. Then Sin Cara came in and missed a moonsault opening the door for Scotty 2 Hotty to take advantage. Grandmaster Sexay entered after and would later finish off Sin Cara to pick up the win.

Results: 2 Cool defeats Sin Cara & Rey Mysterio

Match 3: British Bulldog v. Mark Henry (1st Round IC Tournament Match)

British Bulldog showed he was no pushover in this match, but Mark Henry showed that he was a superstar himself after he kicked out of the Bulldogs Powerslam. Mark Henry would take advantage later in the match however, after putting Bulldog in a submission move. But, Bulldog would later reverse another attempt at the Submission then Power slam Henry again to score the pinfall.

Result: British Bulldog defeats Mark Henry

Match 4: Raven v. Marc Mero (1st Round IC Title Tournament)

This back and forth match was one with many good spots. Marc Mero proved that he will be a big thorn in the side for his opponents. But, Mero would make one mistake and fall to the fate of Ravens DDT. At the conclusion of the match Goldberg from TNA, and Ken Shamrock from Smackdown showed up at the ramp to applaud the success of Raven. What on earth is going on there?

      Result: Raven Defeats Marc Mero

Main Event: Kurt Angle & Bret Hart v. Diamond Dallas Page & Randy Orton

Orton and Hart would begin the match. Hart would take the early advantage, until Orton hit a powerslam then tagging in DDP. DDP would then take control of match forcing Bret to tag in Angle. Just when DDP was about to try and end the match Orton laid out DDP with a clothesline and left ringside leaving DDP alone to fend for himself. DDP faired well until Bret threw him out the ring and speared him through the barricade. Bret tossed him back in the ring to get the pin but DDP still kicked out.

Bret would later tag in Angle whom DDP would immediately hit the Diamond Cutter on but Angle would kick out. But, Bret would tag himself in and then roll DDP up in a small package to score the win. At the end of the match HBK music would hit, Bret would stare at the entrance ramp only to turn around and hear sweet chin music end his night.

HBK stood over Bret as the credits rolled to end the show.

Result: Bret Hart & Kurt Angle defeats Diamond Dallas Page & Randy Orton

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?

Kicking up my Universe now with pretty much everything at default. The changes? Instead of Superstars, I'll be doing a "Raw is War" show. Every month I'll have two PPV's. One for Raw is War, and then one for Raw and Smackdown.

I'm extremely excited to see where my Universe goes from here!

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?

I think this year I'm going to do one-sentence summaries for my Universe, and then regular summaries for the matches in PPV. I'll do what I did last year and post the star rating next to the match, and a total rating for each episode.

One quick question, does anyone know exactly how the branching storylines are supposed to work? Will they just come up naturally?

Ben and I have very similar ideas when it comes to Universe and I will be posting my results as well this year. Results for all TV shows, a write-up before the PPV and a match summary/rating for PPVs as well.

This is Bull sh*t. I just created the NWO. I put all three members away from the tag team part hoping I could make the Outsiders entrance separate with Hall/Nash. And Good Ol thq. Wont even let me put Hall and Nash in the tag team without it Messing up the entrance. So Basically for me to get the nwo entrance and Hall/Nash to compete for the tag titles Hogan has to act like razor ramon when they come out?? They had the same problem in wwe 12. that really sucked.

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?

I'm going with an "Attitude" Universe this year, since that's the era I grew up loving.

I have Monday Night Raw is War (using the 1998 arena), and I deleted Smackdown on Friday, and created a "Minor" show called Smackdown! on Thursday (like it used to be)(using the 1999 arena), that way I could set it to use the Monday night roster. My plan is to use Raw to build storylines and use main event and upper-mid card talent, while I use Smackdown! for the mid-card and under card talent, with some upper mid-card matches here and there, and a main event caliber match the Thursday before a PPV, to add a little to a PPV rivalry.

                      Pay-Per Views are as follows

January - Royal Rumble ('99 Arena)
                      February - Valentine's Day Massacre ('99)
                      March - Wrestlemania ('99)
                      April - Unforgiven ('98)
May - Over the Edge ('98)
June - King of the Ring ('98)
                      July - Judgment Day ('98)
                      August - Summer Slam ('98)
                      September - Break Down ('98)
                      October - Badd Blood ('97)
                      November - Survivor Series ('98)
December - One Night Only ('97)

Here is the roster, champions, tag teams, and stables.

Champions (I'm, of course, using the era specific belts)
                      WWE Champion - '99 Triple H
                      Intercontinental Champion - Ken Shamrock
                      European Champion - X Pac
Tag Team Champions - Edge & Christian
                      Women's Champion - Trish Stratus

I chose to use the Intercontinental & European championships, even though I can technically only use one on the show. Still, the "Title History" will keep track of the the European champions, and I can set matches on my own for the title.

                      Roster (* - top tier, ** - middle tier, *** - lower tier)
                      Animal **
                      Big Bossman ***
                      Billy Gunn **
                      Bradshaw ***
                      Bret Hart *
                      British Bulldog **
                      Chris Jericho ('99) **
                      Christian ('99) ***
                      Edge ('99) **
                      Eddie Guerrero **
                      Faarooq **
                      Gangrel ***
                      Godfather ***
                      Hawk **
                      Kane ('97) *
                      Ken Shamrock **
                      Lita ('99)
                      Mankind *
                      Mark Henry ('98) ***
                      Paul Wight **
                      Rikishi **
                      Road Dogg **
                      Shane McMahon ***
                      Shawn Michaels *
                      Stephanie McMahon
                      Stone Cold *
                      Triple H ('99) *
                      Trish Stratus
                      Undertaker ('97) *
                      Val Venis **
                      X-Pac **

                      Tag Teams
                      Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk)
                      APA (Faarooq & Bradshaw)
                      Edge & Christian

at some point, I intend to form Rock 'N Sock Connection, as well as Kane & X-Pac

                      Stables
McMahon-Helmsley (Vince, Shane, & Stephanie McMahon, Triple H)

I intend to download a handful of CAWs (Hardy Boyz, Kurt Angle, maybe more) as soon as good ones come out on Community Creations

I love that I can choose what type of match I want it to be (Quick, Normal, Epic). It makes watching the matches so much better, as it gives those mid-card matches a good feel, and the main event matches a main event type feel.

I'll keep everything updated by the week.

My plan is to use Raw to build storylines and use main event and upper-mid card talent, while I use Smackdown! for the mid-card and under card talent, with some upper mid-card matches here and there, and a main event caliber match the Thursday before a PPV, to add a little to a PPV rivalry.

                            Pay-Per Views are as follows

January - Royal Rumble ('99 Arena)
                            February - Valentine's Day Massacre ('99)
                            March - Wrestlemania ('99)
                            April - Unforgiven ('98)
May - Over the Edge ('98)
June - King of the Ring ('98)
                            July - Judgment Day ('98)
                            August - Summer Slam ('98)
                            September - Break Down ('98)
                            October - Badd Blood ('97)
                            November - Survivor Series ('98)
December - One Night Only ('97)

Here is the roster, champions, tag teams, and stables.

Champions (I'm, of course, using the era specific belts)
                            WWE Champion - '99 Triple H
                            Intercontinental Champion - Ken Shamrock
                            European Champion - X Pac
Tag Team Champions - Edge & Christian
                            Women's Champion - Trish Stratus

I chose to use the Intercontinental & European championships, even though I can technically only use one on the show. Still, the "Title History" will keep track of the the European champions, and I can set matches on my own for the title.

Nice. I am doing the exact same thing. Got it all set up last night. I have all my PPV's set up the same too. Only difference is my champions and that I made SmackDown on Thursday and major show.

Is their a big difference between making a show major or minor?

The big reason I made Smackdown! a minor show is because if I made it a major show, you can't assign the same roster as your Monday show. I wanted to set it up so that both shows used the same roster, and the game would make matches using the same set of wrestlers. Plus, it makes it a little easier to work without a brand split, as Smackdown! doesn't have titles.

                              Just a personal preference.

While I'm posting - I want to mention a match I just watched on my 2nd week of RAW is War

I saw 2 things happen that I've never seen in a WWE game.

I had a match scheduled between Kane & Shawn Michaels. During Kane's entrance, Undertaker attacked him and would replace him in the match.

HBK & Undertaker put on a CLASSIC. The best match I've ever watched in a video game. The craziest moment happened when Undertaker propped HBK on the turnbuckle for a superplex, but HBK countered by kicking him down. When Undertaker stood up, HBK went for a crossbody from the top rope, but Undertaker caught him and hit a tombstone piledriver. No lie, I said, out loud, "OH ****!" when it happened. Miraculously, HBK kicked out at 2, and the two wrestlers battled for at least another 10 minutes. HBK locked in a sharpshooter, but Undertaker broke it, and went for a chokeslam on HBK, who countered into a quick Sweet Chin Music to pick up the W. (as I've said, I LOVE the ability to choose if you want a Normal match, Quick match, or Epic match.)

Absolute, hands down, ***** star match. Incredible. Can't be happier that the game took over and had Undertaker take out Kane. I can already see possibilities for a feud, too! But, no spoilers..just wait until the next Raw
