Hyperballer & DCAllAmerican WWE 2K18 Attribute Project

Hype/DC: WWE 2K18 Rating Edits: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

Notes

* Ratings appear low but that isn't important. We actually use the entire scale 0-100 in our attributes, so you will get a wider range of outputs.

* Giants/Monsters will appear to be overrated due to their Kayfabe strength/unstoppable nature.

* View an 80 the way 2K naturally treats the 100 rating. So if a wrestler is over a 65, he is doing something right in the wrestling business.

* Don't get into, " How is ____ 3 points higher than ____." Look at tiers. If two wrestlers are within 3-4 points of eachother, that really isn't that much of a differential since we are in fact using the entire scale.

* Don't JUST look at the Overall rating. Remember, wrestlers are rated based on their skillset. So to blindly look at the OVR and not look at the individual attributes wouldn't due each wrestler justice.

*Enjoy the work. We put a lot of hours into this. This is just the first wave. All WWE wrestlers are included. Including Mae Young, WWE UK, and NXT. If someone is missing, please let us know.

Re: Hyperballer & DCAllAmerican WWE 2K18 Attribute Project

We borrowed heavily from The Fire Pro Wrestling series when editing our wrestlers. Each wrestler has been assigned a style that gives him/her a floor/ceiling to certain skills and attributes.

For example, if a wrestler is considered a GIANT, automatically he will be very low in all agility/flying based skills.
If a wrestler is based in Lucha, he wouldn't be proficient in power moves.

Here is what we based each wrestler on.

American A nice catch-all style for the typical WWE style from the mid-90s onward. It's good at heeling and also feats of agility and showsmanship. John Cena

Orthodox An all-round wrestler with no particular strengths or weaknesses. Default style for a wrestler, and the most balanced. (Majority of Wrestlers) Default Style

Power Crush and destroy as quickly as possible, with as brutal of power moves as possible. Goldberg

Junior Catch-all for the modern New Japan junior heavyweight, and US independent wrestlers Adrien Neville

Luchador Mexican based Junior Heavyweights with more of a focus on stretching holds and fancy technical pins. Rey Mysterio Jr.

Giant Loosely based on late 80s Andre the Giant. Slow, prodding, not really skilled. Bad stamina Late 80s Andre the Giant

Technician Highly skilled wrestler who is adept with pinning combinations, suplexes, and feats of agility Daniel Bryan

Heel Wants to make opponents bleed through use of cheating/weapons. Japanese Deathmatch base. Not skilled technically. Abdullah the Butcher

Panther Junior + Fighter + Grappler. (Very overpowered). (Tiger Mask 1 Only) Tiger Mask 1

Vicious Rough striker with some technical skills, as well as submissions. (Very overpowered). Antonio Inoki

Wrestling An AMATEUR wrestler. UNTRAINED professional wrestlers with a shoot wrestling background. (MMA/Pro wrestling crossover style) Rookie Kurt Angle

Mysterious Agile heel wrestler with technical skills. Great Muta / Tajiri

Shooter All-round MMA fighters, with an extra emphasis on working pro wrestling matches. (MMA/Pro wrestling crossover style) Minoru Suzuki

Ground A submission expert to the extreme. (MMA/Pro wrestling crossover style) Yoshiaki Fujiwara

Grappler Brazlian Jiu Jitsu Practitioner. (Not a pro wrestling style) Gracies

Fighter Strike based combat sports athletes. (Not a pro wrestling style) Boxers / Kickboxers

Manager Non-threatening, on air personality (Man) Bobby Heenan

Valet Non-threatening, on air personality (Woman) Alexandra York

That is definitely great news. I didn't look at the attributes yet. Are there any new ones? Or distinction as to the type of wrestler they are? I see there is a "squash rate" slider but no idea what that is or how it applies or knows who to apply to.

they changed the order all the attributes are in, so as i was just curious about below thirty i ran through the attributes, and if im correct i think theres one new attribute, but i may be wrong cuz they are all in a new order

Honestly, I feel if attributes are calibrated, we wouldn't even need to touch that slider

Looking at some of the attributes, there might only be a handful that need adjusted. I looked a the damage recovery of Goldust and it was 40.

John Cena has a 80. So it's nice to finally see that separation.

Also, another thing that we will be improving this year. The allocation of the, "Combo Striker" skill.

Just about everyone is shipped with having the ability to string off Martial Arts style combo strikes. Everyone shouldn't have this ability. The majority shouldn't have this ability.

So only those known for striking will have the Combo Striker skill in our roster file. At first it might seem like a step down from what you are used to, but it feels natural and is another way for us to differentiate between fighters.

Re: Hyperballer & DCAllAmerican WWE 2K18 Attribute Project (Spreadsheet Posted)

Sheet is on page 1

If anyone is familiar with our work in the NBA 2K series knows that we are sticklers for realism. Initially, our overall values might appear low but this is in fact what the game needs. Most wrestlers are overrated in just about every category so realistically rating each wrestler and each attribute is something we felt needed to be done.

The goal was the have all match types (User vs User, User vs CPU, and CPU vs CPU) to go various lengths depending on who is in the match. Low card matches will be around 5 minutes, main event matches will last at least 10 minutes, and squash matches will be under 5 minutes.

A few things to consider when looking at our system:

*Attributes - Based on each wrestler's "style" with card status playing a factor.

*Hit Point Ratio - Head and Body will have higher points than limbs. Past injuries will factor in also.

*Personalities - We did our best to mimic how performers will act both inside and outside of the ring. Baby faces will follow the rules while Dirty superstars will bend them, regardless of cheer/boo status.

*Skills/Abilities - Based on each superstar to mimic how their matches play out on TV.

As always, appreciate the work you guys do for this.

I would love to help you guys out with the TNA roster guys, I started a little bit of that last year.

Just from my initial observation from the spreadsheet, Brock Lesnar's Damage Recovery seems pretty low (49), I would have thought it would be maxed out, Bray even has abit more damage recovery. Is there a reason for this? Could be a good one!

Also think Miz should be classed as "Upper" seeing as he is the current IC champ.

Thanks.
