It is a scenario that has long been a dream of mine. It's also a dream that has been shared by many Canadian hockey fans as they grew up.

It begins in the defensive end as I lift my opponent's stick not once, not twice but three times. It is a thing of beauty. I watched Esa Tikkanen do it once a game growing up. After pulling off a move you see at least 20-30 times a game in the NHL every night, I knock down the defenseman who outweighs me by 50 pounds. I obliterate him into the boards. Hey, the puck was between his legs after I lifted his stick. Fair game, right? After he bounces off the glass and lands in a heap, I take off down the ice, bobbing and weaving.

Are you looking to have the best possible time with NHL 09's dynasty mode? Check out the NHL 09 Dynasty Tips article by Rob Kotsaka on how to make the most of the mode and be sure to leave your own feedback as well.

"This article is for those newer NHL gamers who have been pulled into NHL 09 by the EASHL. The online component is excellent for sure, but what to do when you are online and none of your fellow club members are on? Well you could delve into Be A Pro mode, but I would advise against that since it will rot your EASHL skills, and that would defeat what brought you to the NHL 09 party, right? So may I suggest Dynasty mode?"

Be a Pro mode in NHL 09 has received a mixed reaction among NHL fans this season. Robert Kotsaka gives you his opinion on the mode in his article, If This is Be a Pro, Send Me Back to Juniors.

Quote:
"I love the NHL 09. EASHL is a winner-winner chicken dinner for me. And I still love good old Dynasty mode. Is Dynasty mode perfect? No. But it allows for the Sabres to win the Cup when being controlled by yours truly. Being a hockey nut I still want to play with my team and compete for the Cup in the virtual world. So there. I love the game. It will be in my system for the next six months. I had to get that out of the way because after you read the following you will wonder if I do love this game. I do."

Today, OS writer Robert Kotsaka takes a look into his crystal ball to see what the future of online sports gaming is. Be sure to check out his thoughts in his article, The Future of Online Sports Gaming.

Quote:
"In July NCAA Football 09 gave us Online Dynasty, a mode that will forever change gamers' expectations when it comes to online modes. A few weeks ago, NHL 09 unveiled EASHL (EA Sports Hockey League), a competitive ladder-style league that builds upon last year’s successful Online Team Play mode. EA Sports, the fanboy punching bag, has set new benchmarks for online sports gaming. Those are words few sports gamers thought would ever be strung together. But can both modes become new standards for future sports games to aspire to? Or will one rise above and leave the other on the sports game scrapheap with First Person Football?"
