Nice job by VT drawing up a game plan. Hokies deserved better today. It's nice to get a win at the BCS level, but that was not a great game by any means.

It was a very ugly game. Michigan's offense was awful. They couldn't do anything. Less than 200 total yards? Yikes. The defense was actually pretty good save 3rd and 4th downs. Holding them to field goals was huge.

Michigan won the special teams and that really was the difference at the end.

The fact that we're talking about Michigan special teams winning us a game after the past three years is amazing to me.

RE: Robinson

He still doesn't play well outside of playing at home. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't his first win on the road against a ranked team and he still played horrible. He easily could of had 2-3 INTs. I have a hope that he learns the system well enough with a full off season and cuts down on the TOs and acts like a senior who has started for 2+ seasons next year, but I honestly don't see the mental makeup in him to do so. He's a physically gifted QB, but I will be much happier when he moves on.

I don't remember seeing any game where every single review went against one team (VT), overturning the call on the field every time.

Hoke won 11 in his first year and Rich won 15 in 3? Not bad

The last one is the only one I can think of that was bad and some people disagree. Odd that it happened, but I don't think it's much in the conspiracy department. VT should have won that game and not needed OT to do so. Michigan's secondary got beat bad a lot and VT went away from it.

Big Ten finishes 4-6 with two of its wins coming in OT after missed field goals.

I still don't understand how anyone legitimately could believe that was a catch. Fucking NFL.

The ground thing only comes into play when the ball is secured and it touches the ground but does not move. That's not what happened here. The ground was part of the catch - the ball was not secured/caught before it touched the ground. This was no different than "catching" a short-hop/trapped pass. If he had made the catch and then went to the ground with the ball secured and it touched the ground without moving, then it's a catch. But that doesn't come into play when it's all one motion and the continuation of the catch includes the ball contacting the ground. He needed to have a hand/arm under the ball for that to be a catch.

Anyway, I got a response from ESPN today telling me that:

Just thought you might like to know that.

This is the offense I was expecting to see after the LSU game. Tavon should be this good every single game. He'd easily be the be the best non-QB to ever play at WVU if he was focused like this every week.

Iwas actually tempted to send an email after hearing the radio guy for tonights game compare it to the Alamo bowl "which showcased RG3" yeah, umm, he had 1 passing TD and 1 rushing TD. No mention of Keith Prices 7 TDs.

How in the hell did Clemson limit VT to 13 points in two games? This is the kind of game where people lose jobs.

Paper Rock Scissors.

Clemson's D is Paper
VT's offense is Rock
Everyone else that played Clemson used Scissors.

Clemson's offense usually didn't wee all over themselves like tonight, though, so they could win games 40-35.

I certainly didn't expect this to happen.

I thought it would be high scoring, but more in the 40ish range.

Really glad for these kids. They had a rough transition (and a handful were around for the Rich Rod mess, as well) from Stewart to Holgorsen and it seemed that the pre-game coverage was all about Clemson for this game.

Maybe this will put an end to the whole "how can you rank VT ahead of Clemson" argument.

no neither team is any good, but Clemson is better than VT.

This game will be costly to some, and I say that typing from a Hotel balcony over looking Biscayne Bay...I knew Clemson would lose I didnt expect quite that bad.

When asked after the game how confident he was that they could improve before next year, Coach Swinney responded, "As confident as I was in Charlotte last year when I told you we'd improve the offense."

So long Mr. Steele. You spent too long in the NFL...show Kevin an NFL offense and he shuts it down (See: Tech, Virginia) show him a gimmick or high shcool offense and he doesnt eat for 2.5 days and then shits his pants on the sidelines....true story happend tonight.

Who would have thought that the Big East representative to a BCS bowl would be the one putting 70 points up on its opponent! Of course, they are leaving the conference, but details, details.
