Even on counters those ratings being implemented too low could really hurt and make certain running plays useless to call especially for the CPU

Also how exactly do you get this editor?

If it opens up the ratings this game may appeal to me again

In the thread titled, PC Editor Backbreaker, FlyingFinn has created a roster editor that allows full editing of your created teams ratings. You just need a usb memory stick and the 360 version of the game.

Just as a side note, cranking the attributes to 255 does make a HUGE difference, but it makes the game all but unplayable. It's basically Matrix football. It's amusing for a little while, but it soon gets boring.

Re: Gameplay Project!

I just had a great exciting half!

Using gjsii13's base rosters....

Giants 7 - Eagles 13
Eli was 6-10 for 85 yds, 3 ints (all my fault), 3 sacked (also my fault)
Kolb was 9-13, 106 yds, 3 ints (MUST be fixed), 1 sack, 1 TD

Phila. 11- 53 rushing
NYG 11-85 rushing (one 50 yard)

Celek had 4 catches, Jackson 2 and Macklin 2.
The QBs played well except for the INTS.
5 for the 6 INTS by DBs so I need to lower AGILITY for DBs.

Enabled large attribute values.
Globally edited-
QB ratings raised 10% for all attributes to over 100 min. in FOCUS
OL raised 10% for all attributes

DL lowered 85% to a spread of 1-12 max for all attributes
LB lowered 40% for all attributes
DB lowered 30% for all attributes

I will lower DB agility by 20% AND QB focus 10% HIGHER.
Hopefully that should do it.

I wish I had a video highlight to show you...Jacobs had a 50 yard run and Kolb was sacked by Tuck and fumbled, but Weaver picked it up and ran it in from 14 yards out! CRAZY!!!

MJ

EDIT: lower DB agility by 20% AND QB focus 10% HIGHER made no difference.
Now I will try also lowering CB focus by 20%

thats interesting

so I'd assume the speed rating was the easiest to identify and compare the difference from 100 to 255

any chance you can try to quantify to the ppl that dont have the editor yet how fast 255 speed is. Maybe take a player and time how fast you can run a 40 yard dash at various speed settings

Or you can use the Xport360 and Modio, simple enough.

Re: Gameplay Project!

I've taken the 32 team download file for the xbox 360 and have tweaked the settings as follows...

QBs - Focus: 90 - 99
RBs and FBs - Focus and Strength 85 - 99
O-Line: Focus and Strength 85 -99
WRs and TEs: Focus: Up 5 - 10 pts from standard
D-Line: Focus and Strength: 40 - 60 range
LBs: Focus and Agility: 40 - 60 range
CBs and Ss: Focus and Agility: 40 - 60 range

Games are playing much more realistic with better passing and rushing stats. Less INTs, but you will still have a few if you make a bad decision.

In 2009, the avergage INTs thrown per NFL team was anywhere from 0.5 - 2.0 per game. This equates to approximately 1 - 4 "combined" per game.

Check it out... http://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/interceptions-thrown-per-game

The scoring is still realistic and the defense still feels strong, but not superhuman. Increasing the O-line and decreasing the D-line helps with better time in the pocket. These ratings are close to what I think we all want out of this game.

That is until a patch comes out and we retweak everything again!

I'll keep you posted on my progressions.

Re: Gameplay Project!

Just got the 32 team download and went right to tweaking. Tested a couple of games after making global changes to DBs, LBs and Safeties, aglilty to 40, focus at 50. Also upped the offensive line some and dropped the d-line some.

Results are a mixed bag. Running game for both teams seemed good but it was still a pick fest, my last game, played a half of 5 minute quarters. CPU threw 5 and I threw two picks in the half. I was getting sacked a lot too. CPU moved the ball better than I Chiefs / Raiders but they turned the ball over so much that there was no score at the half.

Not sure where to go from here.

Re: Gameplay Project!

Make sure you up the QB focus to 90 - 99. Helps with the INTs!
