Comments:
As you can see, the only thing missing from that line is a W. Giving up 6 runs in the 9th will do that for you. "It definitely hurts," said Purke who went 8 strong innings giving up 1 unearned run. You have to question whether it was the right decision to even take him out of the game.

Comments:
Well the bullpen nearly let another one go. Giving up 4 runs in the 9th before finally recording the third out. With the way Purke keeps pitching, he won't be in AAA much longer. He currently has a 0.64 WHIP which is 1st in the league. He also had a no hitter through 4 innings today.

Notes:
Purke got off to a rough start by giving up a run and 2 hits in the 1st but would settle down to his usual self. By the 6th inning it was 9-1, which was more than enough for Mr. Purke. He even set a career high in strikeouts in today's game with 10. 8 Innings, 8 Hits, 3 earned runs with 10 strikeouts and just 1 walk was his line. His ERA did go up to a respectable 2.34. Purke has also been promoted to the Ace of the staff.

Re: The Career of Matthew Purke (MLB 11)

Notes:
As you can see it was just another day at the office for Mr. Purke. He just keeps dominating day after day. You really wonder how long he'll be in AAA. Purke understands his time will come and he's taking it day by day. Purke was on once again in this game, but it was a big 3 run 8th inning that propelled him to another victory.

News from Cleveland:
Cleveland currently has 2 rookies in the rotation who are performing well. I wouldn't expect Purke to get called up probably for another month or two. Currently the Indians are 13-10, 1 game back of the Tigers for First Place.

Notes:
Well every start can't be a good one. Purke got hit early and often by a good Gwinnett Braves team. He lasted only 5 innings due to his secondary pitches just not working. When that happened, all the Braves did was wait for a fastball. He still only gave up 2 earned runs, but he didn't pitch the way he wanted to.

The Reunion

Notes:
Not even Purke could have drew this one up better."I wanted to really show them what they gave up," said Purke. He certainly did, pitching beautifully and giving up just 4 hits the entire way. Purke even struck out 4 of the final 6 batters. "I had plenty left, I just left it all out on the field." Purke is now 4-0 with a league leading 1.80 ERA.
