Too Much Fighting Up-ton Here

2012 Recap
chipper jones.jpg
Before the season start Chipper announced that this would be his last year. It would have made perfect sense for the Braves to make it to the world series one more time with Atlanta's favorite son. The Braves made a strong push for the playoffs but at the end of the day the Nats just proved to be to much and couldn't be caught. The year wasn't to waist as the Braves grabbed the top wildcard spot to get into the playoffs. But with the new wildcard format they was forced into a win and in playoff game against the Cardinals. The season came to a sudden halt in the 8th inning when Simmons gets away with a floating duck into the outfield that happened to fall. Bases loaded with 1 out and Atlanta with a chance to really change the outcome of the game. But wait, Sam Holbrook decided that 75 feet or so into the outfield can still still be used under the infield fly rule and that spelled the end of the Braves season. Who's to say the Braves would have done anything with it. But i guess all we can do is wonder now. Its a pretty damn shame though that Chipper had to go out like that. We wish you the best Chip with your kids and family moving forward. You will be missed here.

Upton Era

Looking back at the 2012 season left a bitter taste in alot of fans mouth's. This team is a young team and has alot of talent to move forward with, but things just got A LOT more interesting. Lets face it, After the Braves went out and signed BJ to that huge deal (trust me, im not a fan of that contract) just to turn around and make a blockbuster deal ripping off the D-Backs to aquire BJ's younger brother Justin just made things a hell of a lot better. This team had a lot of young talent and with the addition of these two, this outfield is hands down the best outfield in baseball and could be argued as the best lineup in the game. However, with reward come risk and nobody know's exactly how this is gonna pan out. This could be brilliant and the brothers feed off of each other and have an outstanding season all the way to butting heads and being clubhouse problems (because lets face it, brothers do fight, thats just how life is). Another thing to keep an eye on here is Kris Medlen. This guy was transformed back into a starter half way through the year, and he came out and was just rediculous. If he can have a whole year like his second half last year...watch out. This team could really be in the running to win it all this year.....STAY TUNED!!!

Re: Too Much Fighting Up-ton Here | An Atlanta Braves Franchise (The Show 13)

Last season left a bitter taste in Fran Wren's mouth and the rest of the Braves organization and fan base for that matter, and it didn't take long for Wren to go into action. Wren dealt Hanson to the Angels for Jordan Walden. Lets face it, Hanson hasn't lived up to hype and it was time to cut ties and this we the right time to do so with his shoulder issues. Wren then followed it up by signing BJ Upton to a ridiculous contract that quite frankly im not to fond of, but it is what it is. But that was only the beginning when Wren was able to pull off a huge trade in pretty much absolutely robbing the D-Backs in pretty much only giving up Delgado and Prado for Upton and Chris Johnson which is just gonna help to platoon third while Atlanta figures out how to fill Chipper's shoes. Which we both know is not going to be easy.

Wren might not be done here either. He looks to be a man on a mission as not only is he looking to make another move or two for depth off the bench in the infield but sources have confirmed that Venters is being shopped around and could be dealt at the right price. Not to mention that, but with the Upton Brothers now in Atlanta and tearing it up down in Florida during spring ball, it has some people talking and some are not so happy about it like they were a few weeks ago.

Fran Wren was standing behind homeplate in the first row of the stands watching his team warm up for just a normal exhibition game thinking about how good this team is that he put together over the off-season, when a un familiar man walked up behind him and began to speak

Wren is stunned with what this man is telling him as he just froze where he stood and couldn't really think, much less talk. I mean who could possibly think that Wren would be up to something like this.
