Re: The Doc Is In | The Dominic Dawkins Player Lock Career

The NBA Playoffs are upon us so we have a somewhat clear picture of what the first round of the draft might look like. The notable omission from the first round is Marquette freshman Dominic Dawkins who sustained an ACL tear in January and will be unable to play for around half of next season.

The player shooting up draft boards in his stead is Florida State sophomore guard/forward Dwayne Bacon who had a stellar showing in the NCAA Tournament as he along with freshman Jonathan Isaac lead the Seminoles to the Elite Eight.

Warriors Knock Out Celtics in Game 7

Steph Curry cooked up some magic during Sunday's 124-77 blowout Game 7 victory. Curry showcased the 3 point stroke that made him a back to back MVP as he shot 7-15 from beyond the arc, and 15-28 total en route to his 37 point performance in the series clinching game.

Klay Thompson chipped in 25 points, and Javale McGee scored 19 points along with grabbing 12 boards and 2 blocks.

Curry was named the Finals MVP behind his 26.9 ppg 7.9 rpg 7.9 apg and 2.0 spg stat line.

The Warriors victory gave them their second title in 3 years and should be a contender for years to come. The Celtics on the other hand have some big decisions ahead of them this off season as they hold the best chance at the number 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, and have the max contract of Isaiah Thomas looming. Will they blow up their roster and build around Jaylen Brown, this year's pick and next season's Brooklyn Nets pick or will they trade in the young assets to attempt to nab a star to push them over the top to win a title now?

Casey Out, Stackhouse In as Coach of Raptors

In a surprising move the Toronto Raptors have fired head coach Dwayne Casey and hired Jerry Stackhouse, the coach of their G-League affiliate the Raptors 905. The Raptors have been underwhelming in the playoffs under Casey, and are fresh off of a 4 game sweep by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Stackhouse lead the 905 to the G-League title in his one and only season as head coach. He has served as an assistant coach for the Raptors during the previous season and is regarded as one of the top up and coming coaches.

Melo, Knicks Divorce Day Before Draft

The Carmelo Anthony experience is finally over in New York as the Knicks and Portland Trailblazers have come to an agreement that sends Anthony and Courtney Lee to Portland in exchange for Mo Harkless, Allen Crabbe, Ed Davis and the 23rd overall pick in the upcoming draft.

The trade bolsters the starting lineup for the Trailblazers by injecting the instant offense of Anthony, who should thrive in their fast paced ball movement offense. The Blazers also pick up some cap relief as the Allen Crabbe contract currently holds negative value. In Courtney Lee they pick up Crabbe's replacement and a similar style player, at a smaller price tag.

For the Knicks the trade signifies that the team belongs to Kristaps Porzingis. They are now firmly in rebuilding mode and have gone with a youth movement that may pay off in a year or two. While Crabbe is overpaid, he is a marksman from 3 point range and Harkless is able to play either the 3 or a small ball 4 pushing Porzingis to the 5 where he is a matchup nightmare. The Knicks hold the 7th overall pick in the draft and look to be in good position to draft their point guard of the future and will potentially take a flyer on a high potential prospect who is risky with their second first round pick.
