NHL 15 Excitement Level

Has diminished greatly.
To me, after playing the demo extensively, the gameplay seems so so similar to 14. The presentation is great, but for me, 2 months into the game I will be skipping scenes and turning off the commentary. I always do. No matter how good it is, I just don't care when the initial shine wears of. And after that initial glow, it all comes down to gameplay.
Graphics are obviously better, but I don't know if it is enough for me.
This year I am getting all my games through GameFly, trying something different. They already shipped me Madden 15 on release day, should be here tomorrow, but when NHL comes out in 2 weeks I will either have to send back Madden 15 or MLB 14. I just don;t know if in 2 weeks I will be ready to let go of one of those great all around games for a stripped down NHL game with a fresh coat of paint.
I will still get NHL 15, but before the demo this was a run out and buy/get from GameFly NO MATTER WHAT, to "Eh, I'll wait it out."
Waiting for 15 I have been ignoring 14 and haven't played it for real in a month or so, so now I think it might be time to get back on the ice and reboot at least one more run at the Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins. RW Player Lock, All-Star/Hardcore Sim.

Well, I think the same. To be honest, I feel a little disappointed by this demo. Graphics aren't everything, and you are right that after a longer time no one pays attention to it. It may be a good game but apparently I expected something else. Although on the other hand it's the first such game on next-gen so I think I'll give it. But I'll wait until the price drops.

After I made the blog I went onto NHL 14 and played a handful of games, then back to the 15 demo.
The gameplay IS different, but not enough for me. It will still be fun once I eventually get it, but yea I'm with you. It's first on next-gen so I feel like i HAVE to, but not going to sacrifice anything solid for it. |

And, going back and forth from 14 to 15 back-to-back, the graphics aren't THAT big of a jump.
Going back to PS3 NBA2k14 was like looking at a smudged painting, NHL 14 still seemed pretty good. |
