I'm just curious, but if they wanted to reduce the number of bowl games, they should stop counting games against FCS schools in the record. That way, it will take a real achievement to get to bowl eligible and maybe bring back some meaning to making a bowl game.

I thought they didn't count FCS wins? Was that a rule before or something I imagined?

They only count 1 per season. Teams in the past have had multiple FCS opponents and only 1 of those wins count. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

You can count 1, though they would have let Colorado count 2 if they could have gotten 6 wins this year.

There are some references to only being able to count 1 every 4 years or something like that looking around the internet. I'm not sure though.

Don't know if they have any pull, but if they do, FCS teams would never let that happen.
