FIFA 2008

was looking at old versions of FIFA online and saw that FIFA 2008 is generally more expensive (often very much more) than the 2009 and 2010 versions.

can anyone explain why?

Re: FIFA 2008

I remember 2008 was the 1st real break away from arcade soccer to more sim style. And it was probably the slowest playing Fifa I remember.

Re: FIFA 2008

A bunch of us from here had so much fun with that game. The 5v5 OTP using real teams was a blast... no midgets sprinting everywhere and each player had to play their role to succeed. Then starting with FIFA09 things swung in the twitchy direction and it didn't improve until sliders came along in 12.

Re: FIFA 2008

One of my first ever FIFA videos was for FIFA 08, wow. No 720p back then, lol. It got so many views because Leeds was actually playing Huddersfield IRL - and I had no idea lol.

While the gameplay was "fun", I'm glad we have sliders now.

Re: FIFA 2008

so this was considered one of the better version of the FIFA game series? maybe the high prices are because people haven't been selling it second hand?

Eh, I would say FIFA 10 was way more popular than 08 or 09. That's the game that really started FIFA's dominance.

My guess is it's a bit pricier because there aren't as many copies sitting around for places like Amazon to sell and ship from, for whatever random reason. They probably just didn't produce as many copies of the game compared to more recent versions. Maybe because 360 and PS3 were still considered new-Gen at that point (2007).

You see odd variances like that in older sports games. I don't think people are just hoarding copies of FIFA 08.
