NHL 17 franchise cpu captains going missing

Anyone else noticing when playing cpu teams in franchise, the opposing teams captain reverts to an alternate captain? I've seen it now with Montreal as pacioretty went from captain to the franchise game as an alternate and they have 3 alternates no captain. Then capitals same thing with ovechkin turned to an A and they have no captain.. Restarted franchise without trades thinking that may have something to do with it but it's doing it this franchise too. I'm using a created team myself, so I hope that's not the issue. Made sure they were team captains before starting franchise. Anyone?

Just happened again against oilers. Made mcdavid captain before franchise and he is an alternate now with 2 other alternates no captain. 3 teams now the captain have changed to an alternate and the team is left without a 'C' super dumb

So I may have figured it out. It has to do with the preseason. Team captains disappear from nhl roster in preseason I'm assuming so the rookies can play. However when they come back to the team for regular season they are assigned an Alternate captain instead of their C. Hope EA fixes this..

Weird. I've also noticed that anytime I use the best lines feature it changes the captaincies to the highest rated players.

Noticed the same thing this morning in my test franchise with the Leafs.

First regular season game noticed in the select team menu Karlsson had a "A"

Next game Chara had an "A."

Hope this can get fixed since the role of NHL captain is pretty iconic in the sport.

i've experienced other teams captains turning into an "A", Stamkos in Tampa is no longer captain, and i believe i saw Ove in Washington as an "A" as well.

really kills the game for me. I hope they can solve this
