I miss this game. Gameplay was smooth and I like the player models better than the following versions. Can't get it work for some reason though.

It certainly has its charm, of that I can agree in full. I felt that 2003 was a big improvement, and there is a reason I am doing CPU vs CPU. The game has two massive flaws you can even see in my videos: The outside run game is too powerful because of poor defensive run pursuit & the deep ball is very powerful. The sliders I use mask these issues and balanced the game play to the ratings far better than on default, which is how tournaments were played and was a cheese fest. I can still enjoy the game for what it is, which I am doing here.

I feel that I have done the best I could do in managing contracts, free agents, draft selections, and making sure the team has depth when first line players go down/get tired.


Most of my draft selections have been on the offensive line. 4 of my 5 starters are players I drafted, and so are two of my backups. that makes up 6 of my 14 draft selections, or nearly half. My 6th and 7th round selections have been busts both years, but I don't think there was anyone better that I could have drafted instead. Of the other 4 remaining draft selections, that is a pair of TEs, my Nose tackle, and my rookie HB Trapp - who has had an electric start to the season.



I am playing for the long haul, not one or two seasons where I trade my draft selections away and look to pay free agents to win now. I am looking to draft well, manage the cap, and build a team for long term success. I want to take this franchise mode 8+ season deep.
