Climbing the Ladder | Football Coach Franchise

This is going to be an interesting experience. We’re going to try and climb the ladder. Starting at one of the lowest spots, then climbing to the highest of ranks. We are going to use the game, Football Coach. A new game that is still in development. However, there are plenty of mods available to make this happen.

The Ladder:
- Fictional coach, head coach at the age of 24.
- We are going to start in small school high school ball in West Virginia. I won’t be allowed to recruit(CPU will sim) or use NIL money.
- We will climb to the highest of ranks in the state. Or maybe we’ll never get there, who knows.
- There are D2 Mods, FCS, and FBS mods available. We will see if we reach those levels.

Re: Climbing the Ladder | Football Coach Franchise

The first stop is Braxton County High School. The Eagles are located in rural West Virginia, almost in the center portion of the state. Sutton West Virginia is the town. The Eagles are currently ranked 109/112 in the state. The good news is that there is no where to go but up. This will be a total rebuild job and it’s not going to be an easy one at all.

The conference that we are in is the North-Central Conference. Runs right up I-79 in West Virginia. For the most part, it’s a balanced conference. Schools like Roane County and Lewis County should lean toward the top but we can compete with all of these schools. The conference isn’t very prestigious at all, but it’s a good place to start In our career.

The schedule is beneficial for us, as it doesn’t hold any true losses. Our non-conference games are all winnable. Sherman, Ravenswood, and Webster County could give us 3 easy victories. If we can be 5-3 going into the Lincoln game, that would be a successful season.

Year 1 - 1st Half of the Season

Things of Note:
- Well, I'll take a 3-3 start. Our goal was to win 2 games this year from the AD and we have already beat that.
- We lost one to Ravenswood that we needed to win, we had 500 yards of offense but 6 total turnovers and gave up 8 sacks. Still lost by 4.
- The BuchUp game was one that we could have pulled out, but we just came up a little short.
- We may not win another game. The win over Clay County was shocker. 3-9 might be year one.

Year 1 - Braxton County Eagles, 7-5, Review

Notes:
- We finished 7-5. Much better than I expected, really believed we wouldn't win 4.
- Finishing 4-2 down the stretch was wild. Beating 5-1 Grafton was crazy, we just played well with a backup QB.
- We could've beat Lincoln, over 400 yards of offense but 3 turnovers sank the day
- We came storming back against Lewis County, our offense didn't get off the bus until the 4th quarter. Just not enough.
- Unfortunately, it was a competitive year in the conference. Going into the last week we were 3rd, we had an outside chance of winning it. We finished 7th.
- We started the year ranked 109, and finished 61. That's alot to be proud of.
- Our Middle School class is not looking good at the moment, that has me worried for sure. Hopefully we get some transfers in with the amount that we throw the ball.

Re: Climbing the Ladder | Football Coach Franchise

Year 2 - Braxton County Eagles - 6-0

Notes:
- Really great start, QB developed nicely and we have some weapons
- Defense has really gelled. We were able to keep both coordinators in the off-season which has helped for sure.
- We turn the ball over more than any team. We're averaging 3 turnovers a game.
- We're averaging over 450 a game, but our PPG total is low because of the turnovers.
- We have set ourselves up well for the 2nd half of the year. We will have some tough games but 6-0 is great.

Re: Climbing the Ladder | Football Coach Franchise

Year 2 - Braxton County Eagles 10-2 3rd in North Central

Notes:
- Very close to pulling off a miracle season, just two games down the stretch.
- Liberty blasted us good on offense, we just couldn't get things going.
- We flirted with the Top 25, which is incredible.
- Like the trajectory, we have a better class coming in and a lot coming back.

This game looks interesting, I will be following.

Not surprised the Martinsburg won it all in West Virginia. They are always a powerhouse here.
