Also, do you know if you see who won the Michigan MAC Trophy for each year in your dynasty? EMU/CMU/WMU all play for the trophy in football and basketball each year.
Thanks for checking in mike! It was definitely a huge win for us over a struggling Ball State team and a record setting day for the ground game. Our passing attack has been in as you said a "funk" lately and I am hoping the rainy weather we have been playing in has been contributing to that. We definitely have some work to do in that aspect of our game. While great run blockers, a lot of our linemen do not hold up very well in the pass. Iannotti has also been inconsistent at best.
Unfortunately the game does not have the Michigan MAC Trophy, I do however still follow who won it (despite the game not having it). We have won it in 2011 and 2013. Western Michigan won it in 2012.
Thanks for the great feedback and following along my friend. Hopefully your memphis team can get their first win here next week.

Let's get a win here and some good QB play. I imagine you run an offense very similar to the Nick Saban national championship teams pre-Lane Kiffin. Lots of running and good play action? If not that's what I would do if I were you. Short passes (drags, curls, out) and then when they are keying the run hit the play action passes (posts, crosses, go routes, corners).
I think if you can get some great QB play you can be a force and get some real upsets.
I think you should cruise against Western Michigan.
Haha sorry my friend. I knew you were going to be hurting when I saw the Red River Shootout score line. That being said, with only one loss, Oklahoma is far from out of things. On paper they have arguably the best team in CFB and their running back is leading the Heisman Watch (Brandon Williams).
You hit the nail on the head with the kind of offense I run. We are definitely a power run team built to be more of a "punch you in the jaw" style of attack. The defense is starting to get there to be of the same mentality but still has a ways to go. We definitely do a lot of short intermediate passes with the occasional long ball to Vaughn/Johnson but our play action game isn't fantastic. The o-line isn't quite strong enough in pass protection to give me the time I need to set those plays up better. We will get there though.
Should be a good game here against WMU. Any rivalry game is usually a good one regardless of talent and they got a pretty decent squad there.
Thank you for the fantastic feedback my friend!

Best of luck against WMU. I think this could be your toughest game from here out.
Coach P is doing some serious work at SMU. You are all but guaranteed a post-season bowl berth at this point and you are running one of the top offenses. There is little doubt you will have no problem finding a good job come the offseason.
USC is on the rise and starting to look like their historic self after some down years. I think these next couple seasons they will start to distance themselves. Boston College has been playing well. The ACC is looking very strong this year between them, VT and Clemson.
Year 4 (2014), Game 7, Eastern Michigan at Western Michigan
The Hail Mary: Eastern Michigan redshirt senior quarterback Tyler Benz connects with sophomore wideout Reggie Johnson on an 80-yard pass with just 0:04 seconds remaining in the game to give the Eagles the lead.
Prayers Answered: Dramatic 'Hail Mary' Pass Lifts Eagles to 45-38 Victory Over Rival Broncos
EMU QB Benz connects with WR Johnson on 80-yard desperation heave to win game | Eagles QB Iannotti forced from game in fourth quarter with bruised sternum, not expected to miss additional time | Defensive tackle Tremayne Smith breaks school career sack record | Eastern Michigan travels to Ohio to meet Bobcats.
AP Kalamazoo – The Eastern Michigan sideline erupted as WR Reggie Johnson broke free of the defense after hauling in an 80-yard 'Hail Mary' pass from QB Tyler Benz with just four seconds remaining in the game to give Eastern Michigan a 45-38 win over Western Michigan. The game appeared to be headed for overtime after the Broncos would tie the game with just 23 seconds remaining. Led by dual threat QB Mike Perish, the Broncos were in control for the majority of the game until midway through the fourth quarter. Perish would finish the game with 265 yards through the air and three scores. He added another 78 yards and an additional touchdown on the ground.
Another Record Broken: Eastern Michigan defensive tackle Tremayne Smith, who already holds the school's single season sack record, became the all-time career sack leader in school history as he passed Avery Brown (1994-1997) and his 23.0 sacks.
After holding Eastern Michigan to a three and out on their opening possession, Perish would lead Western Michigan down the field, capping off the opening drive with a 19-yard touchdown run. Eastern Michigan would answer back just before the end of the quarter with a nine yard slant pattern to WR Nick Vaughn. After taking their first lead of the game on a 49-yard field goal, Eastern Michigan would surrender 14 points to the Bronocs offense. A six-yard touchdown run by HB Robert Thomas just before halftime would help the Eagles pull to within four, as they went into the half trailing 17-21.
The two teams would trade touchdowns in the third quarter as Thomas got his second score of the day.
Eastern Michigan redshirt freshman halfback Eric Brown got his first career score on a 3-yard scamper in the final quarter.
The Eagles' star halfback would finish the game with 147 yards and two scores. Trailing 27-31 in the final quarter, the Eagles would suffer a blow on offense as QB Mark Iannotti was forced from the game with a bruised sternum. He is not expected to miss any additional time with the injury despite not being able to return to the game. The Eagles would finally grab the lead as they put together back to back scoring drives set up by CB Jeremey Ernst's second interception in two games. The defense would be unable to contain Perish though as he hooked up with redshirt freshman WR Eric Herring on a 23-yard score. The previously mentioned heroics of Benz-Johnson would save the game and the victory for the Eagles.
This is the second dramatic finish the fans in Kalamazoo have been treated to when these two squads meet. Back in 2012, Western Michigan topped the Eagles 26-23 in an overtime thriller.
"Wow...what a finish. My heart is still pounding. So many back and forth moments in this one. This is the kind of game that great rivalries make." -- Eagles Head Coach Dan Clayton
Eastern Michigan (6-1) will be on the road for the third week in a row as they travel to face the Ohio Bobcats (1-6). The Bobcats have struggled this season with their only win in a six point victory over Temple two weeks ago. The two teams met last season in Ypsilanti, with Eastern Michigan winning 38-28. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 pm est.

Re: Year 4 (2014), Game 7, Eastern Michigan at Western Michigan
Incredible win, Cheese. This team shows heart! From the pic it just looks like a long bomb, can't believe they let the guy get behind them in that situation, was it an all-out blitz!? Amazing win and it will be interesting to see how many W in a row this team can rack up.
Re: A Rising Storm in the North | Cheese's Eastern Michigan Dynasty
Love a dramatic finish, especially against a rival! I would have been jumping up and down with excitement on that one. Your boys had a big fourth quarter with three TD's!
Benz seemed to really step up when you needed him. The passing game came through pretty decent today. I love the stat line, btw...Johnson was silent all game. The defense held him until it mattered the most. What comes to mind is the saying "big time players make big time plays." Congrats on a good win over a rival!

Yeah, I know the Michigan MAC Trophy isn't in the game, but as someone who grew up in Kalamazoo and still follows WMU, it's a cool little touch I always like to check in on during dynasties.
Dramatic win against the Broncos, and in Kalamazoo to boot. Don't like having to scrape by with a 21-point fourth quarter, but that's likely the hardest game left for the Eagles, right? If so, avoid any slip ups and this could be a program-changing year for EMU.
Re: A Rising Storm in the North | Cheese's Eastern Michigan Dynasty
Man this year is shaping up to be an incredible one for y'all. The Ohio game could potentially be a trap game if your guys get caught looking ahead to Northern Illinois and Toledo. Good stuff as always and good luck the rest of the season!
