Offensive Coordinator Coach Bruce Eugene and Defensive Coordinator Corey Raymond unveil their approach for the season

4 and 5 wide. What will be different are the Pro sets we will utilize, 1 back sets and I- Formation. The hard part of installing these year 1 is we do not have Fullback on the roster. As we go through practice we may convert one of the Tight Ends to fill that role for us this season. This offense will look a lot like the one I ran as QB at Grambling under Coach Doug Williams.
this offensive set will be something new for me as I got away from a custom one I had used for years

The biggest part for me as a defensive coordinator for the first time will be calling the show and knowing what every man is capable of doing. The plan is to bring tons of pressure and lock up my DBs one on one. We will see how things play out during fall camp. I know Coach Eugene will give us plenty of looks during practice to let me know just how good my guys are.
The Warhawks open the year against Rival Louisiana Tech. The two teams haven't meet since 2000. Tech leads the series 29-14
Trips down to South Louisiana:
The Warhawks will face LSU and Tulane. LSU has beaten ULM all 3 times they have played the last two times ULM has been shutout. ULM hasn't fared well against the Green Wave either only being 1-3 in their 4 meetings
The 1 Up Game: AD Floyd got East Carolina on the schedule and promptly announced it would be Homecoming when the Pirates come to town.
Late Pain: Could the end of the season be painful for the Warhawks? They play 3 of their last 5 games on the road. Two of those being rivals Arkansas State and UL Lafayette

Warhawks claw their way back for a victory/QB Controversy?
The Warhawks opened the 2017 season by hosting rival Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs would jump out to 14-0 lead by the end of the first Quarter. ULM would finally respond with a score early in the 2nd, by halftime LA Tech would lead 17-10. The 2nd half would be were the game was won. The Warhawks were able to out score the Bulldogs 14-6 in the 3rd Quarter. As Coach Raymond's defense started to shut down the Bulldogs offense and get great stops. Coach Bruce Eugene would insert back up QB Caleb Evans in the 4th after watching starting QB Garrett Smith throw 3 INTs. Evans would get in and do a great job leading the Warhawks the rest of the way going 5/6 with 2 TDs. No throw bigger than 44 yard strike that would be the game winner to WR R.J Turner with :32 left to play in the game.
