If you look hard enough, you can get the online for very little money. I know I bought a deal last Xmas time where I got 2 arcade games, the live vision camera, 4 or 500 marketplace points and a one year live subscription for about $60. With the holiday season coming up, there will likely be deals like this one (or even better ones) to be had.

Re: PS3 or XBox360?
I have both, and I do prefer the 360 version of Madden easily. However, I do think 2008 will be the year of the PS3. Starting with Live 2008, the fps issue will be a dead issue. And the sixaxis rumble is rumored to drop in October.
You also have this rumor:
My biggest issue with my 360 is uncertainty meaning that you never know if/when your system will brick. I'm also not a fan of paying for online service. Then you got MS dropping new skus every few months.
I'm not gonna lie, I prefer my ps3, and I know the games will come.
You can't lose either way, but in the long run, I do think the PS3 is a better investment.Comment

Re: PS3 or XBox360?
It looks like you have decided with the 360. I think you'll be happy. I also have both systems and right now it's the 360 by far.
You will have to pay for the online but you also get what you pay for.
Hopefully 2008 will be a good year for the PS3 as far as games go (can't get any worse), but right now it's the 360 if you want a slew of good games to play.
There have been some 360 issues with crashes but then again I'm still on my launch 360 so I haven't had any issues yet.
I too have both systems and agree with skyboxer's comments. The 360 is by far my most used system but just make sure you get a replacement plan. That's a must.Comment

Re: PS3 or XBox360?
If you're a sports gamer, clearly the 360. After hearing today that NHL08 will be once again 30FPS on the PS3, there needs to be serious consideration on those who purchased PS3's to wave the white flag and trade it in. We were told this year was the PS3's year. EA has ensured that it will not be for some time to come. They have clearly made their choice in putting the max effort into their 360 releases. Now it's next year. Maybe. Maybe the year after that. I'm tired of reading 60 FPS on 360 games and 30 for the other guys. Maybe the PS3 IS too hard to program for any sports publishers other than Sony's San Diego branch office.
I purchased a PS3 earlier in the year and am seriously considering throwing in the towel. One game does not a system make for a sports gamer (MLB07 The Show). Talk me off the virtual ledge, anyone, as to why I shouldn't trade for a 360 when it is clear they have the best sports titles out there.Last edited by PES3Paul; 09-11-2007, 01:47 PM.Comment

Re: PS3 or XBox360?
360!!! Im on my second 360, but i got the one with the falcon chip and HDMI. I just got it a week ago. mY FIRST one lasted a year. I also had a ps3 but i didnt like it. I feel the 360 has better graphics and xbox live is off the hook.NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.Comment

Re: PS3 or XBox360?

Re: PS3 or XBox360?
The new Xbox 360 come with a 3yr warranty against RROD failure by default from MS......Even the old ones are covered under that plan.....Comment

Re: PS3 or XBox360?
Who's to say, really, since NHL2k8 was touted at 60FPS and ultimately barely struggles to reach *30*?Comment

Re: PS3 or XBox360?
just my personal opinion folks..
XBox 360

XBL is off the heeezy
easy connectivity with home PC or home network
HALO 3!!
Con:
Im on my 3rd 360 at this point
overheating is an issue (get the intercooler EX, for 20 bucks its a life.. err 360 saver!!)
have to upgrade to larger HDD
HD-DVD is an add-on
XBL costs

Re: PS3 or XBox360?
If money is no object - then get the PS3.....The future is bright even if the present isnt and getting a Blue Ray player in the deal is great value - they are $499 as standalones.....From a technology standpoint I see them as a reasonable investment. I think BR is gonna win myself.....
Thats what I would do....and I own everything but one - a 360 and a Wii.....Comment

Re: PS3 or XBox360?
I have both but I must say right now the 360 has the better games. I ended up buying the ps3 for mlb the show and thats the only game I have for it right now. Its a great game but hopefully as other games come out like Metal Gear Solid and Gran Turismo, then it might make my investment look better. If I did have to choose right now it would have to be the 360.Comment

Re: PS3 or XBox360?
if it is used mostly for sports games I would go PS3. It has all the games the 360 does, plus MLB the Show which is the greatest BB game ever.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

OMG! M$ doesn't care about roster saves. They care about people cheating the achievement system because they've already had one contest about gamerscore/points and I'm assuming they want to do more of them!Rose City 'Til I Die
