Re: Madden NFL 23 Player Ratings - Top 10 Wide Receivers

Ahhh, is this not one of the best times of the year? Looking forward to ratings and comparing. This is the good times.

And man... they really punished Jerry Jeudy for a game of the dropsies. Dude runs crisp routes and he's mid 80s. Okay.

Re: Madden NFL 23 Player Ratings - Top 10 Wide Receivers

Looking at the Eagles and very surprising to see Pascal is a 78 and Reagor is a 74. Two guys that I would've assumed would be very low 70's players. Didn't plan on keeping Pascal on the roster in my first franchise, but this may change that.

Also - what's up with the Amari Cooper love? It's not the cowboys connection... maybe Kane knows someone from his family? Jk. I like that they're using NGS in these ratings. The Quez Watkins speed rating is a big example of that. He was like a 91 in speed last year.

Seriously though, these all match the Madden 23 beta FOF roster.
If we can get technical, the final rosters had him at 91. He hasn’t played a snap since that Playoff loss and they’ve had updates since then. They still found a way to drop him to a 90, though… strangely. Can’t make the Dallas bias too obvious on their part, right? Is it steep? Not even close. But does it really make much sense? I guess with the perspective of him going to a new team so he’s got to build that chemistry. Again, that’s pretty technical defense

When Davante Adams doesn't put up the same numbers because he doesn't have Rodgers and the ball will be spread around to Waller and Renfrow the rating will go down a few.

If ratings were based off production then Kupp would be a 100.

THIS.....Dont hate the ratings. I always adjust ratings pre franchise startup. Madden does what madden wants, and anything can be a fact based on stats provided by the decision maker. Instead of arguing the realism of said stats/potential/coach scheme etc. Especially for new teams for players, edit em all.

Unfortunately many jags fans took the EA approach with foles in 18. Common sense says he will not do the same with new teammates, playbooks, and scheme fits; yet u couldnt tell em nothing. Theres always a stat for some type of proof/hype lol. Stop hyping em up before a down is played is the motto lol.

They lowballed Kupp.He should be a 99.Stafford is good but not elite.I don't think Adams would put up better production on the Rams. For instance,Julio Jones probably wont be rated above low 80's based on last year with Tannehill but if he went to the Packers and put up big numbers his rating would go way up again..

Re: Madden NFL 23 Player Ratings - Top 10 Wide Receivers & Tight Ends

I find it interesting that there are a fair number of guys with 90+ Catching in this ratings set who do not also have high OVR ratings; it appears that rating has been de-emphasized a bit in the calculation.

For example: Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has CTH 94, but checks in otherwise at a more modest OVR 78. Similarly, Packers TE Robert Tonyan has CTH 96, but falls in the middle of the pack among starting TEs at OVR 80.

I don't know whether this is good or bad? I lean towards the thought that it's probably better to weight Catch In Traffic / Spec Catch / Release / the three Route Running ratings more heavily, because I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a receiver or tight end drop a wide-open pass in Madden (which is what I assume Catching would govern).
