I am debating whether to subscribe to gamepass or EA Play. Does gamepass ultimate give access to EA trials like Madden?

Yes it does. EA Play is included in Gamepass Ultimate.

So can I join ea play, pay the $5 and play a trial early on PS5? I don’t want to buy the All Madden version.

I'm trying to figure out if last gen will have EA play as well. There's been nothing said about last gen other than its there.

"The Madden 23 release date for the EA Play Trial will be the same as Early Access with it going live on Tuesday, August 16, 2022." This will more than likely be Monday the 15th if it is anything like the previous years. I pre-ordered the All Madden version for PS5, at checkout it said availability was Monday the 15th, we'll see next week.

Yup and then you can cancel Ea Play after your trial hours are over and opt to get your $5 refunded. So EVERYONE can play 10 hours of this game 100% for free and have an informed opinion about it. Will that happen? No. But everyone has the chance to play before talking about how this is the same broken game as the year before and so on.

Does anyone know how this will work regarding time zones? For example I am in the U.K. (GMT) so will I technically be able to play Madden 23 before my American friends since I am 5 hours ahead? So I could load it up at midnight whilst it’s still 8pm in the states?

EA Play trial releases are usually global releases. You more than likely won't get to play before someone in in a different time zone.
