I remember when I was on the Madden board regularly and was a loyal and hardcore Madden fan that with every year and release there would be a lengthy thread of people complaining that the game seemed scripted. Now the curious thing was that evidence of scripting was always in one direction only -- against the user.

"My RB with 90 carry fumbled 3 times in a game"

"I use the Packers and Aaron Rodgers threw 3 interceptions"

"The game is scripted."

But when its flipped it becomes

"My defense played lights out, we forced Henry to cough it up 3 times/we forced Tom Brady to throw 3 ints, just a great game by the D to step up"

Its what Josh alluded to when he mentioned the paradox of sports gaming. When RNG lands in your favor your team played a great game. When it lands in the AI's favor its scripting the game as a way to artificially boost the difficulty.

Exactly. We all want SIM to happen to the other team lol. We want every 6th rd 65 ovr pick to play like a pro bowler and never miss assignments. And the possibility of user error doesn’t exist haha.

On a serious note I’m very happy with how 23 is playing. Hopefully it’s only slight tuning through the patches.

Re: Mistakes In Video Game Football

I more want ratings based football than sim football. That is just the nerd in me. If you have a bunch of very high rated players and the other team doesn't, it should show up in the game. Xfactors is an attempt at this but is way too powerful in most instances to say it is ratings based or Sim. If my team is ****ty I want them to perform ****ty. Mostly, I want a setting that will make all cpu controlled players play to their ratings no matter which team they are on. A cb on my team that I am not controlling should behave the same way as a cb on the opposing team with any variance being ratings based. For the love of God why can't we have this setting. It seems a very simple ask. Why do their players act differently than mine. That should be able to be achieved through difficulty settings and sliders to make the game right for people that are just too good but the basic game on pro level with 50/50 sliders should have every non human player playing the same except rating induced differences with no boosts or nerfs.

Mistakes In Video Game Football

Guess a player of Ramsey’s caliber should never make coverage mistakes.

Jalen glitched out on that play. I don't even know what coverage he thought he was playing.

Actually we do have this somewhat. When you throw bad passes, Madden does tell you (under pressure, feet not set, etc)

Think he is absolutely right looking at it. Palms is a good bet.

Thanks for sharing

This was a huge addition, I agree.
