Blocking shedding as Mike LB

Anyone got any tips for shedding blocks as a Mike? I used to be decent at it when it could be performed with the “x” button, but this right stick thing just doesn’t feel fluid or work for me. Any tips for an old man, thanks fam.

As far as I can tell the CPU can read your cut I put before it happens on the field. You can try turning down run block for offense to help mitigate it.

Man I was hoping for something. Being a user in head to head games is really pointless anymore. I can’t remeber one time this entire madden season where I gave the other User a second thought. Can’t intercept balls, can’t hang in pass coverage and can’t shed blocks. Loads of fun I tell ya!

I don't know what you're skill level is but you could try lowering it or check out some of the slider threads to find a good spot for you.

I can’t lower a slider set in head to head. Also, I simply don’t know how to do it. There’s nothing out there that I see to learn from and I’ve never witnessed anyone doing it when I play them. The user simply gets blocked by the guard.

Re: Blocking shedding as Mike LB

First, you need to figure out if the player you are usering is better at Power Moves or Finesse Moves, then that will dictate what moves to try most often. Once you have that figured out, use the controls to figure out how to do the moves.

I've found rips and clubs tend to work better than bull rushes, but I also haven't had many elite power rushers on my rosters, so that's likely part of it. My LB's tend to be the speedier finesse types.

So you use power or finesse as the Mike LB? I mean I understand if your pass rushing on the line.

Those are controls for shedding any block whether you are pass rushing or being run blocked.
