Well, Looman had the opportunity to promote that. Instead he said it's the same as CG. So you might want to bring something (someone?) else to camp to make you happy.

Very disappointing but not surprised. Anyway, let see what they come up with for next year; M15. I would hope they add new features and new presentation.

Re: Exclusive Interview with Josh Looman Madden 25 NXT GEN

It just feels lazy and half assed. I mean it has taken 6 or so years to make the franchise mode what it once was. And now new console, what's to say they start all over once again. It seems they would rather build something new every year, than building on what has already been built.

Madden use to be a top of the line franchise, but now it has fallen behind NBA 2K, The Show, and Fifa. Its a shame. A real shame.

"JL: This year we decided not to include the option to edit draft classes so that we could maintain the branching storylines we write for the hand-created draft classes. Most of the feedback we’ve heard from fans is that they love having these experiences with boom-or-bust college players, and we have not yet determined a way to keep that same unpredictability while allowing users to edit classes."

Damn man. I hate their draft classes. They are hand crafted and terrible IMO.

____________

Wow that article was pretty bare bones and nothing of substance was given.

With regard to editing draft classes, TLDR: You will play the franchise mode the way that we want you to play it. Period. This is our game, and you're paying sixty dollars for the privilege of playing in our universe. We can't have you screwing up our work with your own outrageous customization.

Agree, but I guarantee you that not only will we NOT see this, but I guarantee that not a single developer there even THOUGHT of this. You're comparing a varsity studio to the JV squad.

It's pretty pointless with such a limited presentation.

It would be a different story if it was a deeper experience. Add a HOF for example. Or create more of a challenge in terms of winning Championships, rather than winning 7 Titles in a decade simply beacuse CPU AI sucks so bad.

If presentation were different I may whine about the limit. But as it is now, I usually get bored and start something new once I hit a certain point. I believe 15 years is the deepest I've ever gone.

.. Fwiw, I believe the data tables create the limit. A file can only contain so much data.
That will change in the next few years at least. They haven't announced it yet, but they will be adding the ability to move your current franchise from the one yearly release to the next. IE...buy 2010 and play 5 seasons, then purchase 2011 and move your franchise over instead of having to start over fresh each release. Its part of that "3" year plan that they haven't talked about yet.

Which will be the death of them. Consumers want options/freedom - not restrictions and EA still doesn't get that.
