Re: What About A Throwing Meter Like 2Ks Shooting Meter?

You’ll quickly find any mechanism that forces gamers away from what Madden has raised them to play the game, they’ll quickly shoot it down with some reason

They will complain about staleness, but don’t want any new mechanic.

I told Rex back in the day to use the Defensive Zone Art for QB Accuracy to various areas of the field.

Less accurate throw areas cover larger areas of the field meaning the ball will go “some where” within that area.

More accurate areas would be smaller showing QB to me more precise with ball placement.

Of course Accuracy Art would be dynamic and fluctuate throughout the season.

This would keep the QB within their various Skillset parameters when within the Users control because we currently overwrite their passing Skillset , where as, the AI still operates within the passing parameters.

Apply opacity to the art (can even be colored) so its not so intrusive during gameplay.

Inaccurate throws would actually have some in-game context and make sense if area thrown to is rather large like a deep blue (would expand the area to be larger though)

WR Catch Radius (ie Spec Catch) will play a role and act as an Reward towards offsetting some of the inaccuracy of a large area.

***The ball has to be untethered from the route.

I say add something like the old NFL Fever's read and lead feature.

Unpopular opinion - I actually liked the vision cone back when Farve was on the cover. My young self probably was upset and hated it back then, but it is a realistic approach to the QB position.

As for OP suggestion. I wouldn't be opposed to it, getting the wildly inaccurate throws on All Madden because the game decides a interception is going to happen is annoying.
HOWEVER the Route running needs AI needs to be improved a lot. If I'm timing a throw between zones the WR shouldn't be running top speed from one zone to another. He should slow down or sit in the zone.

Not sure how one could easily and cleanly implement a throw meter while also allowing for lob / touch / bullet passes.

For the bullet and lob it would be easy. I have no idea how they'd implement the touch pass. For a lob you'd just tap thr WR button and then tap it again to stop the meter. For the bullet you hold the button and release it when you want to stop the meter.

For the touch pass..... I don't know.

This is unnecessary. Where will you place it? On the receiver? Too many questions to make it a viable option.
