Minimum Speed Threshold Discussion
I am all-too thrilled that EA finally decided to allow us to narrow/widen the scope of the player's speed rating overall; however, there appears to be some discourse so I was hoping that somebody could set the record straight on this.
The higher the slider goes, the narrower the gap between player speeds. The lower the slider goes, the father the gap widens. Therefore, at the default rating of 50, are we getting "pure" speed ratings, or is the minimum speed between 50-99?
There are two sides to the debate.
1. Some think that the rating should be turned up to simulate the very, very low disparity between the 40 yard dash times of NFL players. The advantage is that blockers WILL hit their assignments on time.
2. Some say that it should be lowered (or even zeroed out) because we will get "pure" speed ratings that are not massaged or finessed. While 40 times show that all pro football players are quite fast, lowering the threshold provides for realistic separation in the running and passing game.
