Madden NFL 10 Preview: Five Things to Know (ESPN)

I've watch the trailer to Madden 10 and noticed that the refs got knockdown twice during the same game(if it is the same game Pitt vs Cards). One of the refs was already on the ground and the second if you look in the background theres a WR running his route and hes being chased by a defender and they run right through the ref and knock him down. It didnt even seem like the ref tried to move out of the way.

This is what im afraid of. In the NFL, refs getting knocked down by players is extremely rare. This should only happen once every few games or maybe we shouldnt see it at all until the playoffs and even then we never really see it, but this new ref sim should not allow us to see refs getting knocked down 4-6 times a game. That would be a game killer b/c thats totally unrealistic.

Agreed, I read somewhere that they were going to make an unlockable achievement for going through a game where you didn't knock over an official once, and they took it out because it was "almost impossible"
