Really looking forward to Coaching Mode with Broadcast Camera

Ian Cummings himself (dude who made M10 happen) came out with the thread confirming it in the first patch, which should be out relatively soon.

Sideline is not in the game, but you won't need it once you get the Broadcast view.

Just so you know--and you do if you already have the game--the 'coach mode' in Madden is really a QB auto-throw. Very different from 2K5's coach mode. You have to do all the kicks is the big difference; that and you can take over the play at any moment just by moving the controllers.

Hopefully next season we'll see an honest coach mode akin to 2K5 or even Head Coach. But I appreciate having auto-throw nonetheless.

Yikes - I did not know about the kicking thing. Why would they make you control kicks in coaching mode?

There is a work around for this. If it's 4th down and about to be a kicking situation just switch control to the other team real quick. Then when the kick is in the air or after the play has been resolved switch back. You just have to do it before the actual play choices come up. Once they present you with the play calling screen changing sides won't kick in until the next play. But there is usually plenty of time to switch over. The only downside is you have to pick the play for the opposing team, but since it's only a choice between either some sort of punt return/block or kick block it's not that big of a deal for me.

The other problem that has cropped up for coach mode is that on equal settings the human controlled team seems to have a bit of an advantage. This doesn't seem to make sense since both sides are in essence being controlled by AI, but many of us coach mode players have verified this to be true through hundreds of hours of testing. Sliders to boost the CPU a bit can help -and there are good sets in the slider forums- but it would really be nice if everything could be equal when you have the sliders set exactly the same for human and cpu, which is how it should be in theory.

And no, in Head Coach you did not control any players on the field.

I wish auto-replays were available for "hardcore" play calling mode. I don't understand why auto-replays can't be treated as a separate option to play calling options.
