Its because teams reorder their depth chart at the end of the preseason.
Team ratings are controlled by depth charts.

What I mean is, do the players have on the pink gloves and wrist bands and cleats and all that? If so, that would be pretty sweet for the fact that we actually see that on Sunday's during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

That is how it works thru weeks 4 to 8 Also in existing franchises as I found out.
