99% of the players in Madden are overrated.

Re: Are Rookies Overrated in Madden NFL 13?

I use to think in the past that rookies were underated to\ many times, so I like the fact that they are getting some love, and become a joy to use in the game.

Remember this all can be adjusted with the roster updates.

While obviously happy that DeCastro has a high rating as a rookie OG, I tend to look more at individual ratings compared to that shiny high OVR. Some, even DeCastro, do need to be toned down.

the physicals need to be derived from the combine/pro days/workouts. you then have your limits for each position.CJ has been the fastest for years at 4.28? given he has got older and pads then the best would be 4.4-4.5? that becomes your 95 say then base off that. build in a calculation for age since combine and an amount for pads instead of none. i have no doubt that some players times will differ less with pads than others, probably the bigger guys. wunderlic can hint along with gpa to awr/prc.

disengage over to be a projected or value number. the individual stats are more important for a position

with these high ratings, i bet we're going to see a lot of current players replaced or wiped away from future seasons and replaced with Madden draft players.

and what about the UDFA takeover, is this addressed in 13? hope so.

The only thing that's a bigger waste of time than Madden OVR's is arguing about Madden OVR's. That being said, a lot of these physical/mental ratings need to be scaled way back and spread out more.

You do realize that all players get slower with pads on, not just lightweights, and having the fastest time of 4.24 is assumedly the fastest ever, making a 99 speed rating not ridiculous.

The issue is rarely individual ratings, but overall ratings where players are ranked strictly by their scale. For example, I don't care how well my Cover 2 Linebacker rushes the passer, and that shouldn't count towards his overall.

There's no way Brandon Weeden should be rated 3 points below Tannehill. If Weeden was 20-23, he would've been a top 10 pick. He's overlooked because of his age, but that will actually be to his advantage in his rookie season. Given these ratings, I would give Weeden a 76 to start, and Tannehill a 74-75
