Re: The Game's Community Ratings Calculator

Does this allow for statistical ceiling breaks, in terms of +.350 hitters, Home Run Records, etc? For players like Tony Gwynn, McGwire, etc. The same way JT's editor does?

Not sure what you mean by statistical ceiling breaks.

Sadly, the game engine really doesn't stretch the ratings out enough on contact. So for example, if a guy like Cabrera hits on average anywhere between .315-.335, he'll need to be a 99 on contact vs right to ever get anywhere close to that. There are limitations, and I've based my calculations on how the game engine seems to respond to ratings.

Re: The Game's Community Ratings Calculator

99 for contact vs right and contact vs left will likely never have a player sim with a .375 average like someone like Gwynn routinely did. You'll be lucky to hit .340-.350.

Wow, this ratings calculator might just be the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Re: The Game's Community Ratings Calculator

When I was playing around with the file, I noticed for pitchers most of the pitching attributes was saying 0. Did you know about this?

Re: The Game's Community Ratings Calculator

I've been plugging in some ratings for some players in OSFM v2.5 and I think I'll continue to do so. I have all the Orioles SECA players done and some other random top guys from other teams before I input all the ratings. I'll post some overalls for y'all. Don't get hung up on OVR. For example, McCutchen is an 86 OVR, but that's because he is not a great defender. Move him to LF, and he's a 91. Also, it seems that SECA has bumped up the influence of defense in OVR as bad defending players are significantly hurt (ex. Matt Holliday is a 73 even with the bat). If you guys have any requests for players, I'll be happy to input them immediately.
