[PS4] NBA 2K14 Fantasy Draft Class - Create your own player!
NBA 2K14 FANTASY DRAFT CLASS PROJECT Hi, and welcome to my project for NBA 2K14 for PlayStation 4. My goal is to make a draft class that is more realistic for Association rather than the randomly generated ones by default. Instead of making real players (who are actually in college, high school, etc.), I want to make a custom, fantasy draft class with created players. I invite all of you to fill out an application and create your own prospect. There will be multiple draft classes and you do not have to use them in order (ex: 2014 class, then 2015 class. You can hop around the years because they're fake). This will be a lot like what the draft classes are like in Madden's Connected Careers mode, so feel free to add a storyline for your player(s), too. Last year, I attempted to make a fantasy draft class just like this one for 2K13, but I was really busy at the time and wasn't motivated to play 2K that much. I'll try to update this as frequently as possible and let you know when an update is available. The application can be found at the bottom of this post. A new addition to this year's thread will be the introduction of a draft class preview, which will give those who view them an upper hand on who to take in the upcoming draft. This was added to increase the realism of the draft while at the same time making it more fun. Even highlight videos will make a debut for only the greatest of prospects! *Downloading information* (Enter it exactly as it is) PSN: shuab15 2014/#1: FictionalDraft#1 (OS: jpshua15) 2015/#2: FictionalDraft#2 (OS: jpshua15) 2016/#3: 2017/#4: 2018/#5: ===================== ------- DRAFT CLASSES -------- ===================== The lettered list gives a basic idea of what tier the player belongs in. Draft Class #1/2014 Preview TOP PROSPECTS Byron Austin Read the preview here:
Spoiler
Info: byron.jpg Measurements: Height (shoeless): 6'6.25" Listed height: 6'7" Listed weight: 225 Wingspan: 6'11" Vertical: 38in Current Position: SG/SF NBA Position: SG/SF Possible: SG/PG Best Case: Superstar version of Evan Turner Worst Case: Jimmy Butler Draft Projection: 1st Overall Analysis: It seems like scouts can't stop talking about Byron Austin, who has been hyped up to be one of the best pure prospects in the last 10 years. Byron Austin was only 6'0" his junior year of high school but still received offers as a 4-star recruit. When he grew to 6'6" his senior year, he got offers from top-tier programs such as Duke, Michigan State, etc., but ultimately decided to go to his father's alma mater: Northwestern. When asked about his decision, he said: "I grew up a fan of the purple and white ... I don't think there's another team I could play for. I'll turn this program around in one year and contend for a championship." Many scouts were wondering that if he wanted to win so badly, why choose Northwestern? "For me, playing basketball comes down to two things: winning and turning up. I'm almost always turnt, so my focus is definitely on winning. I'm also super competitive and I think this will be a nice challenge for me. I can handle it." As you can see, Byron has quite the personality as well. Northwestern's season came to an end in the Elite 8 against Duke, but it wasn't without entertainment value. Austin lead the team to a 25-8 record, good enough for a #5 seed, and piled many highlights and game winners along the way. Byron Austin projects to be the 1st overall selection in the upcoming draft, and it really isn't even close. Grades: Size: Great Athleticism: Good Strength: Good Shooting: Great Finishing: Great Handling: Average Passing: Good Defense: Great NBA Ready: Great Potential: Great Intangibles: Good LaDarius King Read the preview here:
Spoiler
Info: lking2.jpg Measurements: Height (shoeless): 6'10.75" Listed height: 6'11" Listed weight: 250 Wingspan: 7'5" Vertical: 36in (reportedly) Current Position: C NBA Position: PF/C Possible: PF (stretch 4) Best Case: Athletic DeMarcus Cousins Worst Case: Kwame Brown Draft Projection: Top 10* Analysis: LaDarius King -- quite possibly the most polarizing name in all of college basketball. His story is well known around the league, as it's been a while since somebody's pulled off some of the same tricks he has (ahem, Latrell Sprewell). LaDarius King was heavily recruited out of high school as a 5 star prospect in Chicago. He eventually chose to go to Ohio St. after flipping his commitment numerous times. The Buckeyes were the preseason #1 team during his freshman year (2011-12). After a 5-2 start and many run-ins with the coaching staff, King infamously punched his teammate Joey Nelson right in the face after they gave up a game-winning layup to Michigan. King was immediately suspended and later kicked out of the school. The NCAA decided that it would be best to suspend him for the entire 2012-13 season. After sitting out a year, King received very little Division I offers, but accepted the one from Belmont, a team coming off its worst season in 10 years. King would end up playing in every single game for the Bruins, averaging 26.4 ppg and 10.8 rpg. He lead the team to a tournament birth and a trip to the Sweet 16. Just as it appeared that King had finally turned things around, he got arrested weeks before the draft for a DUI. The real question scouts are asking about LaDarius isn't the lack of talent, but rather if his focus is on basketball and if he can stay out of trouble. Grades: Size: Great Athleticism: Great Strength: Great Shooting: Average Finishing: Great Posting skills: Good Passing: Average Defense: Good NBA Ready: Average Potential: Great Intangibles: Poor Johnny Swift Read the preview here:

"Johnny Basketball" not only shows elite speed and quickness on the floor, but is also a quick learner and has the work ethic to become a star. Johnny was recruited out of high school as a 3-star prospect and ended up enrolling at Villanova. After a successful freshman campaign off the bench, he was ready to become the starter. The Wildcats struggled at first but ended the regular season on a huge run, winning 16 of their last 17. They were chosen to be only a #4 seed but continued their winning streak, ultimately winning it all against UCLA. The backcourt duo of Swift and freshman teammate Jayson Carter was too much for the Bruins, as they won 68-56 in dramatic fashion. Johnny would go on to win the Most Outstanding Player award, becoming the 2nd player in Villanova history to do so. Johnny Swift started at "shooting guard" for the Wildcats, but make no mistake -- he is a true point guard. His 6'0" frame may be small, but is much better compared to Carter's 5'8". Swift runs the offense with patience and poise, as he is a master of the pick-and-roll thanks to his coach and arsenal of big men at 'Nova. Johnny has a lot to improve in his game, but he projects to be an all-around PG and a star in this league for years to come. Spoiler
Sky McCloud - 6'4" 190 PG/SG - Syracuse Strengths: Quickness, speed, shooting, handling, clutch Weaknesses: Defense, turnovers, passing, shot selection Best Case/Worst Case: Kyrie Irving / Jarrett Jack Draft Projection: Top 7 Other: Exciting young player. Could have made it to "Top Recruits" section, but he's just the odd man out. Has the potential to be a franchise player and an All-Star down the road. John James - 6'10" 216 SF/SG - UCLA Strengths: Athleticism, shooting mechanics, defense, potential Weaknesses: Very raw, turnover-prone, decision making Best Case/Worst Case: Paul George / Terrence Ross Draft Projection: Top 10 Other: Huge for a swingman. He just recently became known to scouts as a potential NBA player. They're just now starting to realize how much potential this kid really has; it's only a matter of when he can tap into it. Dre Bradford - 6'9" 251 PF/SF - Cincinnati Strengths: Rebounding, passing, athleticism, versatility Weaknesses: Post skills, too flashy, inconsistent jumper Best Case/Worst Case: Terrence Jones / Draymond Green Draft Projection: Lottery Other: Bradford was cut from his team in high school ... later walked-on and starred at Cincinnati. I wouldn't put it against him to do it again and become one of the best players in the draft. Brandon Scott - 6'10" 220 PF/SF - Wisconsin Strengths: Shooting, quickness, versatility, driving Weaknesses: Rebounding, consistency, post defense, passing Best Case/Worst Case: Chandler Parsons / Donatas Motiejunas Draft Projection: Lottery Other: One of the best pure shooters in the draft. He can score in a variety of ways but the real question is his defense & rebounding. DeAndre Harris - 6'11" 215 PF/C - Florida Strengths: Length, athleticism, quickness, hustle Weaknesses: Strength, shooting, defensive rebounding, raw Best Case/Worst Case: DeAndre Jordan / Tyrus Thomas Draft Projection: Lottery Other: A lengthy prospect who plays with hustle, utilizes his quickness, runs in transition to get easy baskets. It will take some time to develop him, as he's very raw. Beau Jackson - 6'10" 285 PF/C - Kansas Strengths: Defense, rebounding, finishing, quickness Weaknesses: Shooting, awareness, passing, character Best Case/Worst Case: Amir Johnson / Lavoy Allen Draft Projection: Lottery Other: A big, strong athlete who is deceptively quick. Doesn't have too great of a basketball IQ and also has motivational problems. Hard to project his future as an NBA Player. James DeAngelo - 6'2" 192 SG/PG - Syracuse Strengths: Scoring, athleticism, blocking, sixth man potential Weaknesses: Shot selection, defense, streaky, selfish Best Case/Worst Case: Monta Ellis / Even more inefficient JR Smith Draft Projection: Lotto-Mid 1st Round Other: Certainly has the talent and swagger to play in the NBA. The real question is if he can take it seriously and stop taking every single shot possible. If he does, then he could be a deadly 6th Man. Jordan Moon - 6'6" 195 SG/SF - North Carolina Strengths: Athleticism, slashing, mid-range, shot creating Weaknesses: Passing, 3-pointer, awareness, turnovers Best Case/Worst Case: Evan Turner / Xavier Henry Draft Projection: Lotto-Mid 1st Round Other: Moon models his game after his idol, Michael Jordan. He's nowhere near as good as the GOAT, but there are definitely some similarities in their play styles. Needs to be developed. Javier Santos - 6'5" 210 SG/SF - Dominican Republic Strengths: Slashing, athleticism, passing, mid-range Weaknesses: 3-pointer, shot creating, turnovers Best Case/Worst Case: Poor man's D-Wade / Alec Burks Draft Projection: Lotto-Mid 1st Round Other: Santos is a rare prospect from the Dominican Republic. He's as true a slasher as there is, but is extremely raw and needs to be developed by the right team in order to reach his max potential as a player. Alberto Catinella - 6'9" 220 PF/C - Italy Strengths: Shooting, athleticism, size, craftiness Weaknesses: Strength, defense, rebounding, consistency Best Case/Worst Case: Poor man's Dirk / Andrea Bargnani Draft Projection: Lotto-Mid 1st Round Other: If he can adjust to the physicality of the NBA, then he will be a good starter for years to come. Probably not an All-Star, but a great offensive weapon. OTHER PROSPECTS
Spoiler
Cody Smith - 5'11" Scoring PG from Iowa State - Good shooting, athletic PG whose height really affects him. Could be a reliable back-up for some time. Jimmy White - 6'6" 3pt Specialist SF/SG from Wisconsin - He'll make a roster based on his shooting alone ... that's about all he's got going for him. Brandon Scott's teammate. Stephen Moore - 6'6" Scoring SF from Norfolk State - Small-school player with elite scoring ability. If it's legitimate skill, then expect him to be a major steal. Lamar Higgins - 6'8" Defensive SG/SF from Duke - Potential to be a Sefolosha-like 3-and-D player if developed the right way. Cameron Bell - 7'0" Defensive C from UMass - Defensive minded big man with an accurate 3-pt shot. Projects to be a solid role player. Andre Jenkins - 6'3" All-Around PG/SG from UNLV - Big, old-school PG with a post game. Needs to improve his passing accuracy and defense. Dario Bagaric - 6'5" All-Around SG/PG from Serbia - Late entry into the draft who's a virtual unknown. All we know is that he's an all-around player who reminds some of Manu Ginobili ... Zach Wilson - 6'9" All-Around SF/PF from Kentucky - Solid, all-around player who would make a good role player. DeMar Johnson - 6'7" Rebounding PF from VCU - All he does is rebound, and that's all he has to do. Bradley Banks - 6'9" Athletic SF/PF from SDSU - Athletic player who's well known as a dunker. Doesn't hustle and only cares about who will be on his next poster. Ian Harper - 7'0" All-Around PF/C from Florida State - Plays with a lot of heart and passion but simply lacks the skill and athleticism to be effective. Has serious Scalabrine-like potential. *NEW* 2014 Rookie Showcase The rookie showcase is very closely based off of the rookie showcase in NBA 2K the last few years: teams made up of future rookies face off in one game, hoping to improve their draft stock. The teams are as follows: Red Team (Bulls Uniforms): PG - Sky McCloud SG - Byron Austin SF - John James PF - Dre Bradford C - Doogs Fox B - James DeAngelo B - Jimmy White B - Alberto Catinella Blue Team (Knicks Uniforms): PG - Johnny Swift SG - Jordan Moon SF - Cole Brooks PF - Brandon Scott C - LaDarius King B - Javier Santos B - Cody Smith B - DeAndre Harris

Jayson has been undersized for his entire life. He was always the smallest player on his middle school teams to his high school teams and even in college. Despite being one of the top high school scorers in the nation, Division I recruiters continued to pass on him because of his 5'8" 172 lb frame. Jayson spent the summer of his post-senior year developing his game ... but he also had his eyes set on something else -- streetball. Carter spent the 2013 summer playing in pick-up games, making Ballislife mixtapes, etc. He caught public attention when he was invited to play at Rucker Park and dropped 68 (more than Kevin Durant did). Even though he was well-known across the US at this point, he still didn't get that desirable Division I scholarship. Eventually, the head coach at Villanova offered Jayson a chance to become a walk-on, and he made the most of it. He quickly made his way into the starting line-up and became a star alongside future NBA player Johnny Swift. Together, the two point guards lead the Wildcats to the 2013-14 NCAA championship, where they both dropped 20pts in a victory over the UCLA Bruins. Many people expected Jayson to declare for the 2014 Draft since Johnny Swift already did, even though he had a poor draft stock. He decided that it would be best for him to return another year and develop his game, which he has done tremendously. Jayson has got rid of most of his stereotypical street-baller flaws and is now a true NBA prospect.
