Just be happy 2k has them in the game.

If you guys wouldn't tell them we might stilly have Marbury and all those guys :/
I feel that I should be the one to tell you this because I think your post was just flat out wrong. I'll have you know that when these players are "REMOVED" that in no way means that they have deleted and never to be seen or heard from again. Quite the opposite. See, they are "HIDDEN", which means that 2K has put a "0" in their PlayType instead of a "1". Attaching a 0 to that column for a player will make that player become "hidden" from the roster and putting a 1 in that column will make him not only reappear but it also indicates that he is a current NBA player.

Now when 2K removes players from the roster set the entire roster set order gets screwed up by players moving up or down however many slots depending on how many players were removed or unhidden or added in the roster update. I learned last year using Leftos Roster Editor during October about hidden players, as I found all the second round draft picks and a number of players that were free agents who had played on a team in the 2011-12 season. Players like Julyan Stone, Mychal Thompson, Mike James, they were all on the game disc, but they were hidden on the game's release.

Futhermore, it is not that diffcult once you know what you are doing to add a player that has been hidden or removed back to the roster set. You just need to make sure that you have the players correct Portrait ID, CF ID and Atype ID, along with is Audio ID and such if you want that actual player. Rasheed Wallace was the best example last season as he was on the game disc, but hidden, but the majority of us roster makers know these players Portrait and CF ID's by heart or we have them listed somewhere to reference them.

I don't think you should be so focused on why we are mentioning the players that need to be removed when really you should be focused on why 2k has many players NOT INCLUDED on the rosters. Just on a rough estimate on my part all the members of the community who do CAPS for custom roster sets, I would strongly reccommend that you dedicate at least a full weekend and possibly 1-2 more days after that to do nothing but create players, because there are going to be at the very least if you want accurate, but a wide variety in your roster set that you'll be making close to 60-70 CAPS.

The funny thing is about the video that came out on Tuesday in regards to everyones overall rating is that there was a sidenote at the bottom that said: "ratings are taken from the 9-20 roster update". Now the game isn't even released and ALREADY there was a roster update? Doesn't a roster update somewhat include player movement? If so, then why is Jamison in free agency and not a member of the Clippers? Why is Butler still on the Suns and not on the Bucks? Go back and ask youself that question among many more before you speak about us mentioning players that need to be removed.

To answer your question, is yes, I don't want McGrady, Skinner, Jeffries, Posey in my roster set because the first three players have "officially retired" and the last player is now the assistant coach for the Cavaliers d-league affiliate, the Canton Charge.

Re: NBA 2K14 Missing Players List

I know that they are hidden.

You say it's not difficult to add them back..
not on PC.
On xbox it's also "easy" with the reditor and all that stuff.
But on PS3 it wasn't possible for a long time. I think some one has it done for 2k13 now.

And no one knows what it will bei on Ps4/Xbox one.
So i prefer them to be in the game.
Especially for retro-roster makers.

I agree that all the missing/not activated players are more of a concern.
And this is why i think people should not point out retired/oversea-players.
They don't hurt someone.

Last year players like Mychal Thompson, Julyan Stone, Donald Sloan were also hidden players so its safe to assume certain players like that will be hidden. One thing that I am very upset about is 2k and their lack of attention to detail. Why are players like James Posey (an assistant coach for the Canton Charge, the Cavaliers d-league affiliate), Brian Skinner (retired), Tracy McGrady (retired), Jared Jeffries (retired) remain unlocked and take up slots in free agency? This aggrivates me to know end because last year was the first year that I was aware that 2K had players on the game disc, but had them hidden (prior to last year I didn't know if that was true for 2K11 or 2K12), but totally discredits their claim of having the most updated current rosters, which they obviously aren't able to EVER deliver on. Here's an example from 2K13 that should make my point. How is it, that a player like Julyan Stone who was on the Denver Nuggets 2011-12 roster for the entire season not be in the intial release of 2K13 when it came out? Over the next several months that 2K added a player or two in each update Julyan Stone continued to be kept hidden, despite being on the Denver Nuggets roster. Then in February the Houston Rockets signed a point guard by the name of Patrick Beverley, who within the next one or two 2K roster updates was created and added to the roster set and on the Rockets team. Now how do you continue to keep a player hidden and not put him on the team roster that he has been on for over a year, but yet Beverley is signed as a free agent in February and as quickly as it can happen he is created and added (with a cyberface) to the roster set and a member of the Houston Rockets. To me there is no excuse why both weren't available and then more importantly it seems as if 2K DOES have the ability to create a player and add them within their next roster update so should'nt we then EXPECT them to be so on point that throughout the first 2-3 months of the season that when a player is signed that has not played in the NBA before, shouldn't we EXPECT 2K to create and add that new player with the next roster update that follows his signing? They did it for Patrick Beverley so there's no valid reason that they can give us as to why they wouldn't do that for a player this season.

Players who have gone overseas this off season, why are they included into the free agent pool (they take up a slot for what reason?). After watching the video that was uploaded and going through team by team I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my pre-order of 2K14 because as a customer I feel that the product is lacking what are promised and this is now a YEARLY issue.

I would venture to say that when the XBOX One comes out and the 2K14 version for XBOX One is released that with the next gen consoles and it being connected to the internet at all times, that 2K, the NBA and whoever else needs to be a part of the solution make it so that for instance at 3:00 am every morning the rosters are updated to complete accuracy. I don't see that as being such a hard task to accomplish given the abilites and the technology that has been advanced that was put in the next gen consoles.
I actually think the 2k insider just enjoys ticking people off and chooses to do what he wants when he wants. I always figure the so called 2k insider was probably a family member of 1 of the heads of the company, and probably a child at that considering how bad the roster updates are. If it wasnt for the shot blocking actually being in the game this year and improved gameplay that I have seen I wouldnt have wasted my money on NBA2k14 and would have just stuck with NBA2k13 for the time being.

Re: NBA 2K14 Missing Players List

Well after getting my midnight copy of the game and skimming through the entire roster set of every team, it should be noted that players who have currently been invited to training camps are on the euro league rosters, BUT we are not able to edit them nor sign and release them (great job 2K, way to once again stick it to us). Safe to say that 2K you have received my last $60 when it comes to your product unless you are willing to make the commitment to actually making and releasing a game that takes you to a whole new level. Gameplay and your attention to player realism detail is not what is questionable, but it's the little things that have been screwed up for the past 4 years and beyond that you have obviously deliberatly refused to fix or at least attempt to fix. Can't believe I see Josh Powell on a euro league team instead of free agency that is huge shock, how is it that you guys could put players on the euro league teams but then not give us the option to have them put onto NBA teams if they make a opening night roster. SMH, well as we can tell we outsmart 2K every single year I'm sure collectively as a community we all have our top goal the same.

I agree 100%. I was really hoping the Euro teams would be tied to Association mode where you could sing players from there and undrafted rookies and some FA players would go to these teams. I didnt care if they were playable in Association mode, but it would have been nice if they were tied to it, or atleast they could have put them all in the FA pool when you started a Association. It seems every year 2k does something stupid in the game, along with not fixing certain things that remain a issue.
Overall I do have to say the gameplay is a definite upgrade this year, and will be fun playing, but there is so much more thi sgame could be if they would just do it. Maybe next gen will get things right and cater to us Association guys instead of the casual gamer and online gamers only.

2K has received my last yearly donation to their product. I'm simply disgusted at their continued ignoring to pre-existing issues within their game modes and to the game overall. They tried to sneak a fast one by us with the 9-30 roster update. Lol, sorry 2K but you didn't even come close to a roster update with that little pre package.
