Your best ever moment as a sports fan?

Was having this discussion at work today...the moment that sticks in your soul, you can relive it a million times and it never gets old...

For me...it was this moment below:

I like most sports...and I've always liked horse racing. I was given a 'tip' by a friend several months before this race. I bet at 50-1...I bet again at 38-1 and finally, on the day, I bet at 16-1.

On the day...the lead newspaper ran a huge story saying my horse had no chance...that it wasn't even a factor...

I don't normally really go heavy with a bet...so I kind of regretted getting carried away with this one...

In the race...he was a mile back...

And then this happened. (I was on the horse called Vintage Crop)

The Saints-Eagles playoff game I was at from a few years ago. When Deuce McAllister got the first down that cemented the victory. The guy standing next to me, who hadn't said much the entire game, turns to his wife and says, "We're gonna win... WE'RE GONNA WIN!!!" Like it was the first time the thought had crossed his mind. It was just an all around awesome moment.

I didn't take the video, but this is the run where Deuce ices the game.

That's a good question. It's hard for me to pick a singular moment, but here are some moments...

1982, 1993, and 2005 College Basketball National Championship, all three were special and unique for me being a die hard Tar Heel Fan.

When Alonzo Mourning propelled the Charlotte Hornets to beat the Boston Celtics in the First round of the playoffs, forgot the year (early 90's I believe).

And who could forget the 1986 World Series. I remember going upstairs to my room heartbroken that the Mets were down to their final out down by two runs. And then the magic started happening, base hit here, wild pitch there, and then the grounded by Mookie Wilson that went between Bill Buckner's legs. Just an incredible range of emotions for me at that time of my life. If I were to pick a singular moment, that would probably be the one.

Well my favorite moment happened this past year.....when Brad Lidge struck out Eric Hinske to bring home the first championship in 25 years...I still cry a little bit because it was amazing and I will never forget where I was when it happened. Then going to the parade that Friday and walking the streets of downtown Philly seeing all the fans and seeing the players, everyone was so happy and joyous and those two days could never be taken from us and that is my favorite sports moment EVER

Watching the Colts come back from an 18 point deficit to beat the Patriots and go to the Super Bowl. I've never been so emotional during a game.

Yankees winning he '96 WS. I was at a Halloween party, and there were only 2 Yankees fans there. I still can remember the excitement (at least for 2 people) when Charlie Hayes caught the final out.
