SmackDown vs Raw | A WWE 2K Universe Dynasty

The future of the WWE has now changed course, with the Endeavor Group purchasing a 51% share of the company. Gone are the likes of the McMahon family and Vince's loyal followers and promoted have been some great hall of famers from the last generation such as Paul "Triple H" Levesque and Michael "Shawn Michaels" Hickenbottom, as well as former assistants looking to show off their craft on the big stage.

The new era of the company has begun and the WWE are looking to broaden their fan base once again and bring prominence to not only Monday and Friday nights, but Tuesday and Thursday's also.

Creative have announced some major changes to the WWE post WrestleMania 39, which include a brand new "hard" brand split, separating the two major brands entirely facing them off against one another. The NXT roster will also get a roster overhaul once again focusing on supplying the next gen of talent for the main roster and finally, a womens-exclusive show is now coming to Thursday nights, named Evolution.

The final and biggest new idea generated was that of a one-month hiatus post WrestleMania, which has been explained as similar to the gap between two seasons of a television show. This gives superstars a well deserved break as well as helping the company reset post their biggest show of the year.

We are currently in this "offseason" period, where pay-per-views, rosters and that alike will all be announced for the upcoming year ahead.

These new ideas will transform the landscape of the WWE as we know it and be a major piece of sending this era of World Wrestling Entertainment back to superiority.

WWE Draft Logo.jpeg

2023 WWE Draft

The draft is officially upon us, we are halfway through this offseason period, now in mid-May and before the shows kick back underway we have to determine their rosters. Before any picks were made the following men and women were announced as the general managers of each show:

Raw - Adam Pearce: After acting as GM for both Raw and SmackDown, Pearce was given the choice of which brand he wished to manage, selecting Monday nights as he believes the most well known members of WWE are always part of the flagship show.

SmackDown - Nick Aldis: Following Pearce's choice of Raw, Aldis was named as SmackDown's new GM. A former TNA World Champion, Aldis has a mean streak and his career has shown he will be a perfect member of authority for the blue brand.

NXT - William Regal: Familiar to this role, Regal returns to NXT where he is known as one of the most talent nurturing workers in the industry. With the work of Shawn Michaels and the remainder of the NXT creative team, Regal will be looking to build multiple future world champions through the black and gold brand.

Evolution - Mickie James: Following the announcement of a brand new weekly show taking place on Thursday nights, many had their queries of what it would be and who would be part of it. It was announced by Paul Levesque that Thursday's would now belong to Evolution, a women's only brand that will be stacked with known and up and coming talent, and who better to manage them than five-time women's champion Mickie James. It is no surprise James is returning to WWE with husband Nick Aldis now in charge of SmackDown.

All main roster superstars are up for grabs as well as each brand having the opportunity to draft three superstars from NXT. SmackDown has the first pick due to having current Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns, with each brand taking turns with 20 picks each. The top 10 draftees will all have insight, let's see who ends up where!

Main Roster Draft

Spoiler

With the main roster section of the draft concluded, NXT were given 25 picks of any non-drafted main roster male talent or people within NXT, before Evolution had 15 picks of any WWE contracted female:

Raw, June Week 1

The first Raw of the New Era opens with GM Adam Pearce coming down to ring before expressing his desire to turn Raw into the only must see show in wrestling. He announces some exciting events and changes that will take place, including six men in the World Heavyweight Championship tournament as well as unveiling the new World Tag Team Championships inviting Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to the ring.

Both men show gratitude receiving the belts before KO grabs a mic and complains that both himself and Sami should have a chance to compete in the WHC tournament, to which Pearce says both men will have their opportunity to join the final eight bracket which is shown on the titantron.

Spoiler

As Pearce leaves the ring he tells Owens he should get ready, because he's up first!

Match 1 (WHC Tournament): Kevin Owens vs Kofi Kingston vs Karrion Kross vs Damian Priest

All four men brawl from the start of the match, Priest begins to target Owens outside the ring with weapons as Kofi and Kross go blow for blow in the ring. Kofi finishes it with a Trouble In Paradise on Kross

Kofi Kingston wins via pinfall

Match 2 (WHC Tournament): Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles

Both men went back and forth the entire match, taking it outside and using both the stairs and the barricade to their advantage. Back in the ring following a close double countout, Styles locked in a calf crusher before Rollins got to the ropes to break it up. Rollins then closely avoids a Phenomenal Forearm before taking advantage once again and finishing off Styles with a Curb Stomp.

Seth Rollins wins via pinfall

Before their upcoming tag team match we are backstage with The Street Profits who are honoured to be on Raw and are ready to take on a new division of teams, telling Owens and Zayn they want their titles.

Match 3: The Street Profits vs The Viking Raiders

The Street Profits used their speed advantage early, repeatedly quick tagging and beating up on Erik. Erik would begin to fight back hurting Dawkins before tagging in Ivar and hitting a Fallout on Ford. Ford would kick out at two but would stand up and receive a Spin Kick of Doom which would finish it, not the start on Raw The Street Profits were looking for.

The Viking Raiders win via pinfall

Match 4 (WHC Tournament): Finn Balor vs Drew McIntyre

Drew made the most of his power advantage early throwing Balor around and not letting him settle into the match and rocking him with a Glasgow Kiss. After spending too much time playing with his prey, Balor launched a comeback on Drew first with his Shotgun Dropkick before reversing a Claymore out of nowhere and hitting the Coup De Grace.

Finn Balor wins via pinfall

Match 5 (WHC Tournament): Sami Zayn vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Bronson Reed vs Matt Riddle

This match was a deserved main event, action packed and full of mayhem. Sami went after Bronson early as Nakamura and Riddle took each other on. Riddle locked the Bro-Mission on Nakamura first before he was hit with a Tsunami from Reed who in return received a Helluva Kick. Riddle locked in another Bro-Mission on Reed before Nakamura would hit a Kinshasa on Zayn for the win.

Shinsuke Nakamura wins via pinfall

As Nakamura is celebrating his win we hear a familiar guitar tab screech across the building as Brock Lesnar storms down to the ring. He begins to maul Nakamura before putting him on his shoulders and unleashing an F5. The show ends with the camera panning from the image of Lesnar over Nakamura.

Re: SmackDown vs Raw | A WWE 2K Universe Dynasty

SmackDown, June Week 1

We begin SmackDown with Roman Reigns heading down to the ring, with The Bloodline in tow. Reigns tell the crowd to acknowledge him before addressing Adam Pearce's claim to Raw being the number one show, stating "you can't be number one without The Tribal Chief."

Nick Aldis makes his way down to the ring holding a belt that is covered, before presenting the brand new Undisputed Universal Championship to Roman. He says he is looking forward to lighting up Friday night's and looks to The Usos, saying there is now a tag title up for grabs on the blue brand, which they will compete for right now.

Match 1 (WWE TTC Tournament): The Usos vs Los Lotharios

This match went a lot longer than anticipated as both Angel and Humberto brought it right to The Usos. Jey did most of the early work on both Lotharios before Angel started to fight back and had the Wing Clipper locked in, Jimmy broke it up before both teams tagged in their partners. Humberto had the knees up for an Uso Splash but he was Samoan Dropped and then couldn't dodge another splash, before Jey tagged in and hit another splash for good measure.

The Usos win via pinfall

Match 2: Dexter Lumis vs Grayson Waller

Both men are pretty new on the scene here, Lumis is trying to work his way up as Waller makes his main roster debut. Waller hit a Throwback Unprettier before Lumis turned the tables dodging the Rolling Thunder Stunner and locked in the Silence, Waller gained the upper hand once again and went up top and hit a huge diving leg drop to win.

Grayson Waller wins via pinfall

After the match Lumis looked to congratulate the new main roster member on his win before kicking Waller down low, leaving the ring with an evil smirk on his face.

Match 3: John Cena vs Sheamus

Cena returns to SmackDown as a full roster member for the first time in years and is met face to face with Sheamus prior to the match before the two shook hands to begin.

Sheamus took advantage of Cena’s ring rust early on before Cena started to hit his straps getting confident looking to line up the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Sheamus would kick him in the head and lift him up and hit a High Cross but Cena would get the ropes after a two count. Sheamus looked to finish it with an Irish Curse but Cena slipped out and hit an AA out of nowhere and that was it.

John Cena wins via pinfall

We catch Edge backstage being interviewed, as he talks about his dream to climb the mountain on SmackDown once again and compete for the WWE Championship, saying he still has one more run left in him and it starts against Bobby Lashley.

Match 4: Bobby Lashley vs Edge

Lashley dominated all match throwing Edge all over the ring as everytime Edge looked to mount a comeback he would be squashed again. Against all odds Edge would reverse out of one of Lashley’s power moves, before surprising him with a Spear and that was all he needed.

Edge wins via pinfall

After the match a giddey Edge went to shake the All Mighty’s hand but he didn’t want a bar of it, pushing him away and leaving the ring.

Match 5 (WWE TTC Tournament): Imperium vs The Dirty Dawgs

The match was action packed from both sides and all four men had a crack at trying to get the victory with multiple finishers but this was full from kickouts to saves.

The ending sequence of the match seen a Superkick from Ziggler to Vinci before Kaiser would get the hot tag, Ziggler would kick out of a Landungsbrucken, Roode would then breakup the pin after a Air Raid Crash Neckbreaker before Kaiser would finish it off with a Reverse STO DDT.

Imperium win via pinfall
