We might see Kobe playing PF this week. I'am sure D'Antoni can make it happen.

They have been made invisible and have become the scapegoats. When they do get the ball, they usually fail. Is it their fault? Not entirely. They are rarely put in the position to succeed when they do get the ball. Pau is usually around the three point line and Howard is simply ISO'ed on the block and is quickly doubled which leads to a turnover.

It seems the more difficult task to put Pau and Dwight into positions of failure rather than positions in which they can succeed, yet Mike D'Antoni has accomplished this feat. It's quite frankly astonishing.

And yes, I must point a finger or two at Bryant. He doesn't trust anyone, even Nash. I wish Nash would just take over the offense. Sure, Kobe bails LA out late in games, but during process of the game he really doesn't lend to any sort of team concept. That's on him and the coaching.

With all of that said, I still can't blame Kupcheck for wanting a coaching change to start. Brown wasn't going to make this team work any better offensively, and defensively they simply don't play with much effort or focus outside of Ron Artest.

I agree with you ex & I knew we were taking L's against SAS & OKC with our bigs anyways. Now we can just add another one to the loss column against Houston without our bigs.

Miami is desparate for some rebounding help:

Quote:
Andersen, famously known as “The Birdman,” arrived in Miami on Monday for a physical and workouts over the next two days with the defending NBA champions, sources said.
Heat president Pat Riley has been scouring the landscape to bolster a foundering frontcourt bench and appears to be intrigued with the possibility of discovering how much Andersen, 34, has left in his game.

Re: 1/7 - 1/13 Games Discussion Thread.

If this were a year or two ago and Nash was a bit younger, I'd actually think this may be a good thing for Nash. I just don't think he plays at his best when he has true big men who predominately are effective when they post up.

What I mean is, I think it's safe to say he's played at his highest level with agile bigs, roaming/rolling and shooting bigs. Guys like Tim Thomas, Amare, Gortat, Marion etc. etc. Guys who could move their feet and/or spread the floor with their ability to shoot.

At this point Pau and Howard are too slow of foot to really mesh with Nash's style. I thought differently initially coming into the season, but how it played out wasn't all that pretty to look at. Nash needs fleet of foot guys who can get in and out of the way quickly so that Nash can probe more. It more seems like Pau and Howard just get in the way and muck things up. Also Pau isn't decisive enough out of the pick and roll if he receives the ball like say, Amare was. Nash needs Pau to make a quick hitting decision because he only has a split second while the defense is off-guard before they recover. Instead Pau holds the ball and doesn't have the skill set to really make a dribble move to the basket.

It will be interesting to see Nash work with guys who will spread the floor more like Jamison and Sacre and with Artest playing at the 4 more. Artest is at least shooting a bit better.. Maybe, even with Nash's old age, we'll see a bit of vintage Nash. The one that gets to probe more and dribble in and out of the paint.
