New England would be smart to avoid McDaniels as their HC, but what he got out of Mac Jones that 2-3 other OC couldn’t has to hold some weight. There’s lot of coaches who are fine coordinators but suck as HC. Which is why I think him working under BB again makes complete sense. They’re a good tandem, but by themselves they’re (mostly McD) much less.

Chargers make sense to me because of BB’s naval ties, but they’re not in SD anymore. But imagine getting to work with Herbert after slogging through Jones, Zappe, Garrapollo and Carr between BB and McD. What a treat that would be.

Seattle is the most intriguing situation to me. Did not expect that to open up and have no idea who would make the most sense there.

I think there will be a few teams in the playoffs that fire their coaches,
or move on from coaches.

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread

So the Titans fired Vrabel at least in part because they felt he really wanted to go to the Patriots.

Pats to name Jerod Mayo as their new HC.

Commanders hire Adam Peters as their new GM. He was assistant GM with the 49ers.

Like I put in the OT thread, happy to see a former Vol get an NFL head coaching gig. I guess I'll actually have to root (somewhat) for the Patriots.

Like we've talked about in the college thread about following Saban, being the coach after Belichick isn't an enviable position either. I hope since Mayo played and coached for the Patriots, they give him some time to turn things around.

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread

Good decision for Commanders, especially when you’ve seen who he’s worked with throughout his career.
