Browns Fire GM Kokinis

Mangini refused to talk about why they fired Kokinis.

So either he doesn't know why Kokinis was fired or he's just sulking because now he doesn't have complete power.

Mangini certainly seems to be looking more and more like a lame duck.

Also... I don't want to see the Browns screwed up too badly... cause if the Bills ever leave Buffalo, they're my fall back team.

I agree. As strange as it may sound, it is no fun for me hating on the Browns and giving my friends a hard time about it when they suck as bad as they do now. I actually want them to be around a .500 team or so sooner than later.

"The things mechanically, in terms of dealing with agents or transactions, I think (Vice President of Football Administration) Dawn Aponte is excellent at those things, so I feel strongly about our ability to function effectively in all of those areas.” Aponte, who worked directly under Kokinis, joined the Browns this season after spending the last three in the NFL office, where she served on the League's Management Council as the Vice President of Labor Finance. With the Browns, Aponte negotiates player contracts, manages the salary cap and handles other legal matters. She huddled with Browns owner Randy Lerner for awhile after Sunday's 30-6 loss to the Bears, the night before Kokinis left the building for good.
