I'd like to get some consistent offense. A center would be nice, attacking wingers.

Above all, get everyone healthy.

-Everything, but an overhauled defense in particular. Nobody but Giroux should be off limits.

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread

Blackhawks could use a goalie who is capable of stealing a game for them.

If Bostons asking price isn't too insane I'd be interested in looking at Tim Thomas for a short term fix.

In addition to that we need to sign two defensemen, not sure if Oduya will be kept or not, sounds like Bowman wants him and I liked him down the stretch of the regular season but after his playoff performance not so sure. They don't have to be superstars, just ideally better than O'Donnell and Lepisto (although I'd be fine with keeping Lepisto as the 7th dman).

Top 6 forward would be nice but need to fix the other holes before even worrying about that.

Don't forget your prized $50M tendy is off limits too.

This CBA thing needs to hurry up. The Penguins need to make sure they can re-sign Staalsy and Crosby.

This is what I'd like to see happen.

-Throw everything and the kitchen sink at Suter. I really want Jagr back next year but if you have to let him walk to free up cap space, do it

-Try to get Jackman for a reasonable price

-IF an amnesty clause is part of the CBA, use it on one of Bryz, Briere, or Pronger (if he's done for good)

-Trade Schenn and/or JVR for a young defenseman

-Sign a defensive-minded center...even a 4th liner type guy is fine

-Draft a defenseman in the first round

For Detroit? Get some players that know about positioning. FAR too many rebound chances pass us by because we have no net presence at all. You can only do so much with one player battling at the front of the net with two defenders. Other guys need to step it up.

And we could definitely use with a lot more physical play. Kicking for the puck along the boards and finishing your checks isn't enough anymore. I'm not saying go out of your way to "Weber" anyone, but don't be afraid to push back.
