Re: The Transfer Thread

Now, Lyon says no deal was struck for Benzema.

One of favorite players, Lucho Gonzalez, leaves Porto for Marseille.

Sounds like it's still up in the air. Reports confirming it are in the Spanish press, which is what the Sky Sports story reports on. The last blurb on the matter via Sky's transfer clockwatch:

Quote:
12.34 Lyon have received a big-money offer for Karim Benzema but insist there is no agreement with Real Madrid or any other club for the forward. The plot thickens...
As it goes with all the silly-season happenings, nothings "official" until it's official (do I ever sound like an idiot). My guess is that Real and Lyon have reached a tentative agreement on a fee, but Lyon is stalling (see above quote) to see if Man Utd will trump it...

Re: The Transfer Thread

A little sad to see Benzema go to a Spanish club.

I’m not a ManU fan, but I was looking forward to being able to watch him play.

Also think the new United red kits are class and was contemplating a Benzema jersey.
