New to the EPL

Much like the new spurs fan thread, i have also finally settled on a club to support. Through the years, I've gradually become more and more interested in the game of soccer. The 2010 World Cup really sealed it for me. However the only time I've really been able to enjoy the sport and be emotionally attached to it when the USMNT were playing a qualifier or in a tournament. Well, I've decided to start following an EPL club, and I have settled on Everton. It was an obvious choice for me, being a huge Tim Howard fan, and also seeing Landon play over there a bit. Also, I seem to have an emotional attachment with the color blue with my sports teams (see my sig). So as in the other thread... What are some things I need to know before I start supporting Everton? I know a few of the players via FIFA 14, and watching a game or two on NBCSN, but beyond that, if anyone could enlighten me on some things I should know about the club.

Thanks

Youre are going to really enjoy yourself then. The BPL is such a great league and anything can happen any weekend. The talent and skill level of the players are going to impress you the most if you only watched the USMNT games. Watch a BPL match and then watch a MLS match, two very different soccer games especially when it comes down to the players and skills.
And things to know about Everton. They are a very scrappy bunch who are a few players away from being a top 4 team. Usually you will see them in the 5-8 place spots every year. They also have some good talent, Baines, lukaku, Barkley...

Thank your lucky stars you didn't pick Spurs.

Agreed, can't get much worse than Spurs
