It happens all the time, especially on corners.

I have seen it happen a lot in La Liga when i watched it ( 2003 to 2009)

Also, stuff like this, to provoke the adversary, is really common

You guys still remember Materazzi x Zidane, right? That's an example.

For someone who is supposed to be a rock back there Thiago Silva does some truly idiotic things.

Truth. He had that hand ball against Chelsea in the Champions League too. His athleticism lets him get away with a lot of poor decisions. He's like the Brazilian Sergio Ramos.

Great to see Chile win their first in front of their home crowd.

Just another big match where Argentina's strikers fail to do anything at all of note. Aguero awful. Higuain the same when he came on for him.

I thought they were a lil rough on Higuain for his miss at the end of regulation. It looked to me that Lavezzi's ball took him a little wide. That being said Aguero would have had enough pace to get to it.

Been a disastrous year for El Pipito

Getting a little tired of the Maradona comparisons whenever Messi doesn't win these international tourneys. We get it, Maradona would have just dribbled through the midfield like FIFA on beginner difficulty and beat Chile 8-0.

Watching the replays, the group I was with talked about that pass and finish. It was the perfect pass by Lavezzi - pace and direction. If it's slower or a foot in either direction it gets deflected by the keeper or defender. Higuain is a half step slower than Aguero, and that was the difference between a goal and not a goal. Don't blame Higuain at all for that one. Then again, who even knows if Aguero would made the run to the back post there. He was in lala land in his entire time on the pitch. The only highlight I remember from him was when he came deep to relieve pressure and made a nice pass that set up an attack. Yeah, that was it from a striker that looks like he'll score at least two goals every game for City.

And anyone who wants to throw criticism on Messi for not saving Argentina with a wondergoal like he did a couple times at the World Cup must not have been watching that match. Chile had a nice game plan for him, but he still danced by them several times. And he orchestrated that last near-goal. Oh, and he was the only one that converted his penalty - a perfect one at that.
