Looking Back At Forza Motorsport 3

While racing games seem to enjoy more popularity on the PC these days, there have been a handful of titles that have flourished on the console platforms. The Forza series from Microsoft developer Turn 10, happens to be one of the series which has done just that, by combining a strong physics package, a deep career mode, and a great online experience.

I took Forza 3 out for another spin recently, and wanted to see what how well it holds up to today’s racing titles, and if there is still some life left under the hood.

Love the Forza series. I started with Forza 2 reluctantly as I was a massive GT fan. Then after playing Forza 3 there was no going back. I don't even want to think about how many hours I have sunk into Forza 3 & 4.

Forza 3 was a great game, and still is. Now that I have some extra memory for tracks, cars, etc., I should probably give it another go.

One review that I read at the time said that the Forza series was technically perfect, but lacked soul. There was some truth in that - other series were experimenting with blur motion effects and other things that gave you a more dramatic sense of speed and momentum.

But the Forza Horizon game that came out last year really is a great compromise between sim and arcade. It may actually end up having the most replayability out of any of the Forza games for me.
