MLB.Tv Audio

I'm curious as to whether this is possible or even legal...Is there a good way to capture audio from Mlb.tv? I have a subscription and was wondering if there was any way to pull the audio from an archived game short of recording on an iPhone? I would like to add a few authentic stadium sounds and this is would be awesome if it were possible

It's possible. You need something that can capture desktop audio, and maybe an audio converter if the capture is in a different format than MP3. I did it with a combination of Open Broadcaster Software (normally used for streaming, but it can capture offline video/audio too) and a Goldwave trial (the full version isn't free) for converting OBS's mp4 file, but if anyone has a better suggestion I'm all ears too.

As for legality, well.....technically none of the stuff that people bring to SoTS is exactly legal. You're not gonna get banned from MLB.TV or anything for recording audio, though.

I must admit you were my inspiration for this idea. I really want to add in the PA and organ sounds for my Cardinals. With MLB TV you can hear everything very clearly with the broadcast turned off. Unfortunately I only have a single team package or I would love to help you on your project!

Re: MLB.Tv Audio

I have almost an entire Cardinals pack put together for this setup. So far I have Carpenter, Piscotty, Holliday, Adams, Moss, Molina, Grichuk, Wong, Diaz, Hazelbaker... I think I'm still missing Gyorko, Pham, G Garcia, and Tejada. I do not have any pitchers done. I also recorded some Busch Stadium organ sounds for yells, chants. I must admit, this adds a completely different element of realism to the game. It's quite refreshing to say the least. If anyone is interested I can figure out a way to share some of what I have complete

Re: MLB.Tv Audio

Btw I used Soundflower (Mac) and QuickTime to record audio. I used Garage band for all the editing. It's actually fairly easy once you get organized

How do you turn off broadcasts? All of my options listed are just the different team TV and radio broadcasts. I have a full subscription, so I could try to do more teams.

It should give you the option for STL: Park or whichever home team it is: Park. That is the ballpark audio and nothing else. I did it on my Mac Pc so idk if it only works on certain versions but that shouldn't be the case. Here is a sample of what I have for St Louis. I mixed music audio with the stadium audio using Garageband
