Chioda's talking to me, but I think he's just saying gibberish because, again, I got whacked in the head a couple of times. So anyways, Vince thinks that I'm shooing him off, that I'm disobeying an order, that I'm ignoring the order from Chioda, but I never got the order because I would never disobey him. So [the] gorilla [position] was silent. Vince was going ballistic. I mean, throwing stuff."

McMahon recalled that his father was "fuming" because he thought Shane was disobeying him and everyone backstage knew.

"[Vince] was fuming and he said something very nice to me. He put the match over and that'll stay private. And he said, 'but don't you ever blanking do that ever again.' He was so hot. We were supposed to ride together, but he got his own car. I was like, 'wow, I had heat' because he was nervous, so it was two things: being a father and seeing your son go through a train wreck and waiving him off, which really made him hot, in front of everybody, because he was giving the order in front of everybody, so he thought I was disobeying on top of all that and everyone around knows I was disobeying."

That's an awesome story. Thanks for sharing.

Kurt Angle has said that the wrong glass was used, because whoever was in charge of it thought sugar glass would have shattered during the pyro, but I believe Shane said they used glass that was easy to break, but the paint they used made it way harder to break.

That might have been where I heard it, actually. I listen to so many podcasts, it's hard to keep 'em straight sometimes. Shane talked about it on E&C' s podcast too, if I remember right. Suffice to say, both guys were hurting afterwards.

Ruthless Aggression era is still my fave era in WWE. I find it better than Attitude Era in terms of RA being the perfect blend of storylines and wrestling. AE obviously has great storylines, but matches for most part aren't as memorable.

Even if you watch RA stuff still, everything about it still seems so modern in terms of production and everything. So many cool stage designs, great TV graphics, good music and so on. All while having great in ring action and storylines. 02-05 was great.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...

Apparently today is the anniversary of one of the greatest matches of all-time.

It might just be me, but honestly any time I watch it, I just don't see what's so special about Kelly Kelly vs Brie Bella.

Meltzer gave the match they had at the Tokyo dome 5 stars. Best women's match since The Kat vs Stacy Keibler.
